Schon erstaunlich, was ein paar unbedarfte Sonnenstrahlen so alles ausrichten können. Sie
locken die ersten zarten Grashalme aus dem Boden, bringen die Amseln um vier Uhr früh zum
Krakeelen und uns auf ein paar ganz zauberhafte Ideen: Wir könnten unseren Garten in ein
rosarotes Blumenmeer verwandeln und darin mit unseren Lieblingshasen Ostern feiern. Oder
mit der Vespa und wehendem Pünktchenschal durch italienische Gässchen brausen, bis die
Kirschblüten vor lauter Amore von den Zweigen hüpfen. Danach würden wir uns auf einen einsamen Gipfel setzen, den Bergwiesen beim Wachsen zuschauen und mal kurz darüber nachdenken, was uns gerade so schwindelig macht: die Höhenluft, die unermessliche Weite oder
diese atemberaubend schönen Kornblumenkissen?
It’s pretty astonishing what a few unpractised sunbeams can accomplish! They lure the first
delicate blades of grass out of the soil, get the blackbirds rollicking at four in the morning and
inspire us to come up with a few tempting ideas: we could transform our garden into a rosypink carpet of flowers and celebrate Easter in it with our favourite bunnies. Or zoom around on
a Vespa through Italian lanes with polka-dot scarf flying behind, until out of sheer amore the
cherry blossoms parachute from the branches. Afterwards, we would take a seat on a solitary
peak to watch the mountain meadows growing and occasionally give thought to what is making
us so light-headed: the high mountain air, the immense expanses or these breathtakingly
lovely cornflower cushions?

Sobald die Thermometer Flip-Flop-Temperaturen zeigen, macht sich an allen Ecken und
Enden Ferienstimmung breit. Unten am Bach genießen langbeinige Naturschönheiten den
kühlen Schatten, erfrischende Grüntöne und die Aussicht auf die eine oder andere Delikatesse.
Bei der Radtour im Flachland trifft man auf verträumte Dörfchen, nicht ganz so verträumte
Dorfbewohner und die Erkenntnis, dass sonniges Orange gepaart mit coolem Grafit genau
den richtigen Hintergrund für ein ausuferndes Picknick abgibt. Die lautesten Parties steigen
wieder mal am Pool, was vermutlich an den knallebunten Sonnenschirmen, vielleicht aber
auch an Cocktail Nummer 5, 6 oder 7 liegt. Und was, wenn das wahre Paradies in der Karibik
zuhause ist? Dann ziehen wir eben zum Strand, lassen uns zwischen exotischen Blumen aufs
Meer hinaus treiben und tauchen mit Delfinen, bis plötzlich jemand sagt: „Bitte mal den Rücken
eincremen, Schatz!“
As soon as the thermometer hits flip-flop temperatures, a holiday mood pervades every nook
and cranny. Down at the brook, leggy natural beauties enjoy the cool shade, refreshing shades of
green and the view to having some treat or other. While cycling in the plain, you encounter sleepy
villages, not so sleepy villagers, and the realization that sunny orange coupled with cool charcoal
presents a perfect background for a lavish picnic. The most boisterous parties take place yet
again at the pool, probably because of the gaily-coloured sun umbrellas, or possibly also because
of cocktail number 5, 6 or 7. And what if true paradise is at home in the Caribbean? Then we’ll
just move to the beach, drift out between exotic flowers to the open sea, diving with dolphins
until suddenly a voice says: “Would you rub some sunscreen on my back please, sweetie?”

Was haben wir nicht schon alles an wundervollen Textilien gesehen! Und trotzdem finden sich
hin und wieder Exemplare, die selbst bei verwöhnten Stoffliebhabern unkontrolliertes Herzflattern auslösen. Die so außergewöhnlich, so exquisit gefertigt und so sinnbefreit schön sind,
dass wir ihnen auf der Stelle einen Antrag machen möchten. In dieser Saison sind es prachtvoll changierende Painted Velvets, edle Glanzunis in umwerfend leuchtenden Farben, schwer
fließendes Leinen und Jacquards mit sagenhaft aufwendigem 3-D-Muster und Haben-WollenFaktor. Dem sollte man ruhig mal nachgeben: Der Vorrat ist nämlich begrenzt.
What a wealth of wonderful textiles we’ve already viewed! Nevertheless, here and there
specimens turn up that get even fabrics fans who’ve been spoiled for choice into a fluster of
excitement. Fabrics so extraordinary, so exquisitely crafted and so insanely gorgeous that
we’d like to propose on the spot! In this season it’s the sumptuously shimmering painted
velvets, luxurious glossy unis in dazzlingly vivid colours, luxuriantly draping linens and jacquards
with elaborate 3-D patterns and gotta-have-it factor. Go ahead and indulge the urge: you see,
supplies are limited.
