AStA Social loan
The general student committee Paderborn is granting an interest-free loan to any
student of the University of Paderborn who is in a short-term emergency situation. The
loan can amount up to 500€.
You can apply for the loan at the general student committee’s social office. The onetime payment will be transferred after all requirements are met. The repayment starts
after three months from the grant date. The repayment term of social loans may not
exceed 12 months. Deferral of 6 months is available on written request.
The loan is meant to enable the student to be able to meet its monthly obligations
(rent, living and tuition). The existence of an emergency situation is to be made
plausible by the submission of all bank statements for the last 3 month and a written
declaration.
A necessary condition for lending is the presence of a guarantor. The guarantor must
be able to prove their identity by valid ID/passport, and provide proof of their liquidity.
This is done through the presentation of an income certificate. (The guarantor will only
be prosecuted if the borrower is unable to pay!)
Documents to be submitted for a social loan:
Borrower
 Completed application form (available at the general student committee’s social
office)
 Certified Copy of ID/passport
 Copy of current student ID & registration certificate
 Copy of bank statements of all existing accounts of the last 3 month (continuous
& seamless)
 Written request stating the intended use and social/financial situation (informal
application)
Guarantor
 Certified copy of ID/passport
 Copy of current income proof (alternative BAföG or pension)
