students and to intensify the academic cooperation between
Colombia and Brazil.

3.1 Leaders Training Course in University International
Cooperation GCUB / AUF / OAS
Partners
• Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF);
• Organization of American States (OAS).
Goal
To promote specialized training of administrative
personnel working with international cooperation
between universities.
Structure
• Public: administrative and/or academic personnel from
the international cooperation offices;
• Total of Participants: 15 – members of the GCUB
associated universities;
• Duration: 100 hours
Structure (cont.)
Module:
a) Academic Training (25h) – five modulus, through virtual
plataforma, with tutoring from distance
b) Practical Training (75h) – three presential courses.
 Latin America: Universidad Autónoma de México (UNAM).
 North America: Université du Montrèal.
 Maghreb to be defined.
• Working languages: French, Spanish and Portuguese;
• Call for Candidates to be lauched: August/September of
2015;
• To begin: November 2015.
Financing
• OAS and AUF: US$ 30,000 each
• Contribution of US$ 500 from participant.

3.2 Programa de Capacitação para Professores
Universitários das Américas e do Caribe - PCPU/AC
Main Partners
• Organization of American States (OAS)
• Union of Universities from Latin America and the
Caribbean (UDUAL).
Other Partners: rectors from universities networks
from Latin America and other countries.
Goal
To promote the training of university professors from
the Americas and the Caribbean through the training
of masters and doctorates.
Audience
University professors from public and/or private
institutions from host country.
Structure
• Brazilian universities will offer courses and supervisors
to the candidates in the host country;
• The courses will be recognized by CAPES and presente
minimum grading of 4;
• 8 Brazilian PhD professors will be selected, by field, to
supervise and to teach the courses professores
doutores brasileiros, por área, para orientar e ministrar
os courses.
Metodology
• The courses will take place at the participants’ host
institution;
• There will presential and at distance modulus;
• Each modulum will last 1 week;
• Participants must be available to stay in person 30 days
at his/her supervisor university for cultural and
academic immersion;
• The viva will take place at the participant’s instiution
of origin.

3.3 ALISIOS Project
Project developed within the Erasmus Mundus Action 3
promoted by the European Union and by Brazilian
institutions involved in academic internationalization.
Partners
Universidade de Coimbra (general Coordination).
Length: 28 months (September 2013 to December
2015).
Goals
To intensify the political talks between Brazil and
European Union, through cooperation activities and
programs focused on the opportunities created by the
Science without Frontiers Program (CsF).

3.4 University of the West Indies (UWI)
Current Activities:
 GCUB participation on the creation of the
Brasilian Studies Center at the campus UWI Cave Hill, in Barbados.
 GCUB-UWI Lectorship Program.
 Short Courses for Brazilian students on African
History, African Diaspora in the Caribbean and
related issues.
 Academic mobility programs for Brazilian
researchers.
 Partnership Program with CAPES/MEC for the
offering of 30 scholarships to Brazilian students
to perform English courses in one of the
University of the West Indies campi (Cave Hill in
Barbados; in Mona, Jamaica; and in St.
Augustine, Trinidad & Tobago).
3.5 Universidade Livre de Bruxelas (Bélgica)
Goal: To promote the colaboration between
Brazilian and Belgium researchers and to
publish joint papers
Fields:; Ecology, evolution and conservation of
biodiversity hotspots; life sciences; Energy
Storage Systems and biomedical technology.

i) 1st International Thematic Seminar
Goal: To promote the proximity of Brazilian and
Sweedish researchers to the development of joint
research and studies.

ii) Junior and Senior Researcher’s Program
Goal: To promote mobility programs to visiting
researchers and professors in nanotechnology and
biotechnology.
The program will offer mobility opportunities for
short and long terms (from a month to a year).
3.7 Fatih University (Istambul)
Goal: To promote the dialogue between Brazilian and
Turkish researchers and to strenghten the research
groups and joint publishing.
Fields: nanotechnology and related fields.
