Sie isst Seetang. we eat – she eats Die Bildung der englischen Verbformen macht (im Gegensatz zu deren Anwendung) nicht allzu große Probleme, weil es im Vergleich zum Deutschen nur wenige Endungen gibt. In dieser Unit geht es um die -s-Endung in der einfachen Gegenwart (Englisch: simple present) REGEL Seaweed?1 My yoga teacher eats this every day. We eat too much meat. 1 Seetang In der 3. Diese -ing-Form hat – trotz gleicher Form – nichts mit der Verlaufsform des Verbs zu tun, sondern ist eine Art Nomen. Vergleichen Sie: I like books. Books are one of my hobbies. I like reading (das Lesen). Reading (Das Lesen) is one of my hobbies. REGEL Auf bestimmte Verben folgt im Englischen eine -ing-Form als Objekt. In der indirekten Rede geben wir eine Äußerung mit Veränderungen wieder: 1. Wir leiten die indirekte Rede mit einem Verb des Berichtens ein, z. B. said. 2. Nach said folgt that oder auch unmittelbar der Bericht, ohne that. 3. Wir verändern die Person, z. B. I ° you. 4. Wir verändern die Zeitform des Verbs, z. B. know (Gegenwart) ° knew (Vergangenheit).
