The movie will be introduced by Thomas
Nellen, make-up designer and collaborator
on Daniel Schmid’s movies. He is also
known for his contribution to movies such as
“10,000 BC” and “The Patriot” among others.
This dark comedy tells the story of lovely Irina, a Russian
call girl who ends up in a wonderland in the Alps. She
increasingly has dealings with a clientele from the worlds of
business, politics, the military and the media. In faraway
Russia a family clan keenly follows her social climb. Pressed
into service as an informer, Irina finds herself completely lost
in what for her remains an impenetrable labyrinth of interest
groups. Finding herself blackmailed, she is left with no
choice but to spy on her clients. Eventually, Irina sets in
motion a plan for the overthrow of the government: the
Beresina alarm. The fate of the heroine, and indeed of the
whole country, begins to take an unexpected turn.
Diese schwarze Komödie erzählt die Geschichte der
schönen Irina, einem russischen Call Girl, das in ein
märchenhaftes Alpenland gerät. Durch einen zwielichtigen
Anwalt wird sie an einen wachsenden Kundenkreis von
Vertretern aus Wirtschaft, Politik, Militär und Medien
vermittelt. Im fernen Russland verfolgt ein Familienclan
Irinas Aufstieg. Als «Informantin» verpflichtet, gerät Irina
immer mehr in ein für sie völlig undurchsichtiges Labyrinth
von Interessensgruppen. Mit dem drohenden Landesverweis
konfrontiert, löst sie durch ein Missverständnis und in völliger
Unkenntnis der Folgen den vor vielen Jahren geplanten
Staatsstreich einer vergessenen patriotischen Organisation
aus: den Beresina-Alarm. Und das Leben der Irina erfährt
eine unerwartete Wende, gemeinsam mit dem ganzen Land.
