The Low-emission zone in Aachen
Short introduction
As of 1st February, 2016, Aachen will have an "Umweltzone" (Environmental Zone
or Low-Emission Zone). From that date onwards, only vehicles with a Green
Sticker or a special permit will be allowed to enter the Environmental Zone.
For the most part, the boundary of the Environmental Zone follows Aachen's outer
ring road and includes all the streets and roads within the designated area.

Green Sticker: Where do I get one?
If you want to get a Green Sticker for your vehicle, you will need to present your
vehicle registration document or Registration Certificate Part 1. This document
contains a certain combination of numbers and letters that indicates whether you
qualify to be granted a Green Sticker for the vehicle in question.
The sticker costs between five and fifteen euros, depending on the provider. You
can get one – in person or online – from any of the following authorities or agencies
in the City and Municipal Region of Aachen:
