There isn’t a proper taxi service in Val di Sole charging taximeter fares, but it is possible to
hire a car with a driver. Fares are calculated on a lump-sum basis depending on distance,
route and time. There are no taxi stops and the service is to be asked and agreed upon with
the carriers themselves.
Die Taxiunternehmen im Val di Sole berechnen ihre Fahrten nicht mittels Fahrpreisanzeiger, es
ist aber möglich einen Wagen mit Fahrer zu mieten. Die Fahrpreise werden pauschal berechnet und richten sich nach: Kilometerzahl, Strecke, benötigte Zeit. Es gibt keine Taxistände und
der Transport wird direkt mit dem Fahrer abgesprochen.

Medical assistance is ensured every day from 8.00 to 20.00.
From 24 December to 28 March - Malé-Peio
Medical assistance is ensured from Monday to Friday from 8.00 to 20.00.
A fee of € 20.00 for surgery visits and of € 30.00 for home visits is charged.
Foreigner healthcare: starting on July 1st, 2004, all residents of EU countries will have direct access to
the healthcare services provided in other member States by simply submitting their TEAM card (or an
equivalent document). The healthcare forms for members of foreign healthcare organisations (green
booklets) are no longer used.
Residents of non EU countries having underwritten specific healthcare agreements with the European
Union (Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Croatia, former Yugoslavia, etc.) will have to submit to the local
healthcare offices the document issued by their native country authorities and will receive a form
entitling them to healthcare in Italy.
Please note that without a proper healthcare document (European Health Insurance Card or native
country document), patients will be charged full current rates, even if they have underwritten a private
healthcare insurance policy.
The District of Val di Sole has the power to change the above surgery hours due to particular service
needs. Actual timetables will be posted on surgery information boards, the telephone numbers and
how the service is carried out.

Medizinische Versorgung für Ausländer: ab dem 1. Juli 2004 hat jeder EU-Bewohner direkten Zugang
zum Gesundheitsdienst der anderen Mitglieds-Staaten u.z. kann man sich an den Gesundheitsdienst
eines anderen Staates wenden, indem man einfach den eigenen TEAM - Schein (oder Ersaztmodell
desselben) vorweist. Es sind daher alle jeweiligen “Scheine für die medizinische Versorgung der Versicherten von ausländischen Krankenversicherungen (grüner Schein), die bis jetzt im Umlauf waren,
abgeschafft.
Ausländer, die aus Staaten ausserhalb der EU kommen, aber mit denen bilaterale Abkommen bestehen (Australien, Argentinien, Brasilien, Kroatien, Ex-Jugoslawien, usw.), müssen sich an den jeweiligen Gesundheitsbezirk wenden, mit einem Ausweis aus dem Herkunftsland, um die medizinische
Versorgung in unserem Gebiet in Anspruch nehmen zu dürfen.
Man weist darauf hin, dass der fehlende Krankenpflege-Schein (TEAM oder Schein vom Land
mit dem ein bilaterales Abkommen besteht) die komplette Bezahlung der hiesigen Leistungen mit
sich bringt, auch für diejenigen, die in Besitz privater Versicherungen sind. Der Bezirk Val di Sole
behält sich das Recht vor, die obengenannten Öffnungszeiten bei besonderen dienstlichen Erfordernissen zu ändern. Die definitiven Öffnungszeiten, die Telefonnummern und die Modalitäten
der Dienstleistung sind auf Info-Blätter ausgeschrieben.

The Val Meledrio Ecomuseum begins within the town of Dimaro at the town church, which
has a unique bell tower dating back to the 16th century. Then, continue towards the town
centre of Dimaro until you reach the main road, turn left and continue upwards about 400
m. On your right, you will find the Venetian Sawmill. From here you can follow the “Wood
Turpentine” route and then continue your walk towards the Val Meledrio valley and the
“Fosinace” (iron forge), iron was an important economic resource during the Medieval
period. The forge has now been perfectly restored. Then continue towards the “calcara”,
an ancient lime kiln used to produce limestone. You can then continue onwards to the “Dos
di Santa Brigida”, where after extensive research, the remains of an ancient hospice, run
by monks for travellers and pilgrims passing through the area, was discovered.

Der Weg des Ökomuseums Val Meledrio beginnt im Innern des Dorfes Dimaro, wo sich die
Kirche befindet, mit dem charakteristischen Glockenturm aus dem 16. Jhd. Dann läuft man
weiter in Richtung Dorfzentrum von Dimaro, bis man die Hauptstraße erreicht und schlägt

links in Richtung Folgarida ein. Nach ca. 400 m gelangt man rechter Hand zum Sägewerk
der Gemeinde. Von hier aus kann man weiter auf den Weg “Percorso della Trementina” oder
in Richtung Val Meledrio und Fosinace laufen, zur Schmiede wo das Eisen verarbeitet wurde,
einstige Haupteinnahmequelle im Mittelalter war. Hier befindet sich die perfekt intakte und restaurierte Schmiede. Weiter zum Kalkofen, wo einst Kalk hergestellt wurde. Läuft man weiter
erreicht man den Dos von Santa Brigida, wo man nach Ausgrabungen Reste vom gleichnamigen Hospiz, dass von Mönchen geleitet wurde und als Herberge für Pilger diente. Im Falle von
Schnee ist das Räumen des Weges garantiert

The castle is located on a rocky outcrop and it dates back to the Lombard period even
though the first written material regarding the castle is from 1191. Over the years, several
noble families owned the castle and between the nineteenth and twentieth century, Bertha
von Suttner, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1905 was also a co-owner of the castle.
The castle’s tower, which is 25 meters high, is the best conserved and most characteristic
feature of the entire castle.

Die Burg erhebt sich auf einem Felssporn und geht vermutlich auf die Zeit der Langobarden
zurück, die ersten schriftlichen Erwähnungen stammen aber aus dem Jahre 1191. Verschiedene Adelsfamilien lösten sich auf der Burg ab und zwischen dem 19. und 20. Jahrhundert war
Bertha von Suttner, die 1905 den Friedensnobelpreis erhielt, Miteigentümerin der Burg. Der
25 Meter hohe Schlossturm ist auch heute noch das am charakteristischsten und besterhaltene
architektonische Element der gesamten Burganlage.

eines altertümlichen Webstuhls aus dem Haus Grazioli zur Schau. Einige didaktische

Webstühle folgen der Spur aus Omas Zeiten. Man webt mit Leinen und Wolle aus Pejo
und nach Anmeldung ist es möglich an didaktischen Labors zum Einstieg in die Webkunst
teilzunehmen.

Forte Strino is located along the Tonale road, between Passo Tonale and Vermiglio. Built
in 1862, it was part of the region’s fortification system that was developed by the Austrian
General Staff soon after Italy’s independence wars, when Trentino became the southern
border region of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The Fort, that played a forefront role during
the First World War, just as the nearby village of Vermiglio, has been recently brought
to light again by patient digging work and an almost archaeological restoration. Today,
nearly 90 years after the events in which it was involved, the Fort has been turned into a
historic museum of the “White War”.

Der Fort von Strino liegt entlang der Straße des Tonales, zwischen dem gleichnamigen Paß
und dem Dorf von Vermiglio. Im Jahre 1862 erbaut und gehört zum Befestigungssystem des
österreichischen Oberstaats, am Tag nach den Unabhängigkeitskriegen, als das Trentino sich
im südlichen Grenzgebiet des österreichischen-ungarischen Imperiums befand. Der Fort, wie
auch das Dorf von Vermiglio, spielten eine Rolle an der vordersten Front während des 1.
Weltkrieges und heute, fast 90 Jahre nach dem Ende der Ereignisse, die es als Darsteller
miterlebte, ist es ans Tageslicht gebracht worden, dank geduldiger Ausgrabungen und fast
archeologischer Instandsetzung, als historisches Museum des “Weißen Krieges”.

They are usually closed on Sundays and Mondays; grocer’s shops close on Sundays, on
Monday afternoons and on Thursday afternoons. During the tourist season, closing times
are reduced and shop hours are usually longer, but this may vary from village to village.

Cross country ski trails wind along some twenty kilometres in the Volpaia-StavelVelon area, in the part of the valley closest to the Lombardy region, set amongst
the Stelvio National Park (to the North) and the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park
(to the South), in an enchanting setting featuring conifer woods and typical rural
houses (masi).
