Mola ist eine traditionelle Stoffwebweise der Kuna-Indianer in
Panama und Kolumbien. Mola sind Stoffteile, die in mehreren
Lagen übereinander komplex vernäht sind, wobei die Technik
der rückseitigen Vernähung angewendet wird. Die Mola wird
komplett in Handarbeit hergestellt, indem mehrere Schichten
verschiedenfarbiger Stoffteile übereinander venäht werden.
Abhängig von der Komplexität des Mola-Bildes, kann die
Herstellung zwischen wenigen Tagen bis hin zu sechs
Monaten dauern.
Mola is a traditional weaving technique of the Kuna-Indians in Panama
and Colombia. Pieces of cloth are sewn in a complex manner in up
to seven layers - using rear stitching techniques. Mola is completly
made in handicraft, so the production process can - depending on
the complexity of the Mola picture - take between a few days, up to
sixth months.
Tagua auch als Steinnuss oder vegetarisches Elfenbein
bekannt, ist der Samen der Steinnusspalmen. Sie wachsen
im tropischen Regenwald in Panama, Kolumbien und
Ekuador. Die Samen dieser Palmen werden getrocknet
und können dann geschliffen und weiterverarbeitet
werden.
Manta wird hergestellt aus Baumwollgarn. Es stellt
die typischen Elemente der indianischen Kultur
Nariños dar. Meist ist Manta sehr farbenfroh, mit
einer dominanten Hintergrundfarbe und einem seidenartigen Glanz.
Wayuu ist eine spezielle Häkeltechnik der WayuuIndianer, die an der kolumbianischen Karibikküste
leben. Die Gewebe zeichnen sich durch besondere
Farbenfreude und individuelle Muster aus und
werden hauptsächlich in Form von Umhängetaschen
und Gurten hergestellt. Häkeln ist in der Wayuu-Kultur
ein Ausdruck von Weisheit und Kreativität. Daher sind
alle Stücke Unikate, deren Herstellung bis zu 20 Tagen
dauern kann.

Caña Flecha, auch Süßgras genannt, ist ein Bambusrohr - Gewächs mit langen Blättern, das fächerförmig
angeordnet ist. Seit Jahrhunderten wird es in tropischen
Gegenden Amerikas angebaut und geerntet. Im Kunsthandwerk
wird es meist in Form von geflochtenen Gegenständen, wie
Matten, Körbe und Hüte verwendet, in den typischen Farben,
Naturfarben, Dunkelbraun oder Orange.
Tagua also known as ivory nut or vegetable ivory, is the seed of
the ivory nut palm, which grows in the tropical rain forest on the
Pacific coast of Panama, Colombia and Ecuador. The seeds of
this ivory nut palm are dried and can be processed as ivory.
Manta is fabric made from cotton which represents typical
elements of the Nariño Indian culture. This material is usually
very colorful, and has a dominant background color and a
silky shine.
Wayuu is a special hand-woven technique of the Wayuu
Indian Tribe, who live on the peninsula of La Guajira on
the Colombian Caribbean coast, close to Venezuela. The
fabrics are characterized by particular bright colors and
individual patterns and are usually produced as shoulder
bags (mochilas) and straps. In the Wayuu culture
crocheting is an expression of wisdom and creativity therefor all pieces are unique, and the creative process
can take up to 20 days.
Caña Flecha also called sweet grass, is a bamboo
plant with 2 m long leaves that are arranged in a
fan shape. For centuries it has been cultivated and
harvested in the tropical regions of America. In
handicrafts it is mostly used in the form of braided
articles such as mats, baskets and hats with the
typical colors, natural, dark brown or orange.

Als Tochter einer Spanierin und eines Argentinier
ist Flor Puppio in Buenos Aires (Argentinien) aufgewachsen
und hat dort Jura und Internationales Business studiert.
Nach einem Auslandsaufenthalt in Kolumbien zog sie mit ihrem
Mann in seine Heimat nach München. Aufgrund der verschiedenen
kulturellen Einflüsse in ihrem Leben hat sich bei ihr früh die Liebe zu
Lifestyleprodukten aus verschiedensten Kulturkreisen entwickelt.
So hat sie ihren Beruf als Rechtsanwältin aufgegeben um sich ganz ihrer
Passion -der Mode- zu widmen. 2012 haben Flor und ihr Mann Tobias
Hofmann das Label Flor del Sur in München gegründet.
As a daughter of a Spaniard and an Argentine, Flor Puppio grew up in
Buenos Aires (Argentina), where she studied Law and International
Business. After living in Colombia, she finally settled down in Munich,
where her husband is originally from. With all these different cultural
influences in Flor´s life, she developed her love for lifestyle products
from diverse cultures. That’s why she decided to abandon her
career as a Lawyer, to dedicate her time exclusively to her
passion, fashion. In 2012, Flor and her husband Tobias
Hofmann founded the Munich-based
company named Flor del Sur.
