The topic
We often read in the news that passwords are stolen and leaked, and that hackers can
then compromise user accounts. This is a very significant threat that costs the industry billions
of dollars every year. Two-factor authentication is a promising solution to this problem.
Unfortunately, deployed solutions (for example, Google 2Step Verification or RSA SecurID
which are based on one-time codes) are cumbersome for the users and see little adoption.
Sound-Proof is the first two-factor authentication solution for online services that does not
require the user to interact with his phone. Sound-Proof can replace code-based two-factor
authentication that is slow and cumbersome for the user.
The organization
Sound-proof is a startup company providing seamless two-factor authentication for the Web.
It enables an effective protection of online accounts, even if passwords are leaked.

The topic
Electronic encyclopedias such as Wikipedia are commonly available on the internet, and
telegrams have been replaced by e-mail. Currencies seem to be the last stronghold of the
non-digital world. Bitcoins are often defined as the first crypto currency and fully electronic
equivalent of currencies with a prevention of double-spending. Therefore, CSG@IfI at UZH
developed an App, enabling a safe and fast mobile Bitcoin payment method using NFC contactless technology on Android SmartPhones: no swiping, no signing, no PIN needed. CoinBlesk
users can make Bitcoin payments in under a second of transaction time, and visitors at

The digital transformation seems unstoppable and fundamentally affects
not only various aspects of our daily life, but also entire business segments
such as financial services, the insurance sector or healthcare. Many of
these areas come with strong requirements for privacy and data protection,
including regulatory and legal restraints. In order to comply with these
requirements, we need the identity of an actor – user or machine – to become the focal point. Or in other words: “No digital life without identities”.
Join this session to learn about how digital processes rely on identities and
