Clients get access to the information they need to gain full control of their business operations. This allows them to gain more from their assets in order to mitigate expenses across the value chain. At the same time, opportunities to create new revenue streams start to emerge. Our zero-maintenance devices take just seconds to on-board and function for the lifetime of an asset. Bi-directional communication and an ultra-low power approach make it future-proof. This means, the user can add services like remote firmware updates and access to documents used throughout the chain. The organization Nexiot AG is an Industrial IoT and M2M company based in Zurich, Switzerland. At Nexiot, we help customers turn assets into autonomous, active participants at the heart of business processes. As an Industrial IoT partner, Nexiot provides local to global connectivity to solve complex asset management problems. Our zero-maintenance devices include bi-directional communication for advanced mobile asset tracking, time-monitoring, accountability, security and route and delay optimization with enabled on-board documents. Before joining the PhD program at the Università della Svizzera Italiana, Anton was working in applied research groups in the mobile industry in North America, Western Europe and Asia gaining expertise in the areas of mobile human-computer interaction, user experience design, augmented reality and wearable devices. His research interests lie in understanding contemporary sharing practices of personal digital information and physical objects. Anton is active in designing and developing augmented reality solutions in several different spheres of life, sciences and business. The topic Winter sports like skiing and snowboarding are often group activities. Groups of skiers and snowboarders traditionally use folded paper maps or board-mounted larger-scale maps near ski lifts to aid decision making: which slope to take next, where to have lunch, or what hazards to avoid when going off-piste. To enrich those static maps with personal content, we developed a wearable augmented reality system that allows groups of skiers and snowboarders to share such content on a printed resort map. The organization USI is Switzerland’s most international university with distinctive degree curricula and fields of research. Its relatively small size enables direct interaction between learners and lecturers. Students benefits from a collegial, dynamic and multicultural atmosphere. 69 IoT becomes reality Keynote speech and discussion When: Thursday, March 17th, 2016, 11h00 – 11h30 Where: SWISS Pavilion Arena, hall 6, stand D30 The speaker Andreas Kressibuch is the Business Director at Noser Engineering AG. He successfully graduated as machine engineer, software engineer and adult education lecturer in Banking and Finance, and graduated with a Bachelor degree in Business Administration. The topic Free-of-charge application for the handling and management of apprentices, students and overall HR. The management of apprentices, students and employees is often time-consuming and does not coincide with cost-cutting strategies at universities. The NYP has developed a cost-free all-in-one application for PCs and mobile devices which support these handling and management processes for your company. Usually, it takes around 170 hours to read and import data from 1,000 applicants. With our XelHa-Tool, this time can be reduced to only 2 hours! The organization Noser Young Professionals (NYP) is an internal, yet independently incorporated company of Noser Group. It puts a strong focus on education, but also provides clients from different industries with ICT services and solutions. 71 Sound-Proof: Strengthen Your Passwords Using The Noise Around You (Product) When: Thursday, March 17th, 2016, 12h00 – 12h30 Where: SWISS Pavilion Arena, hall 6, stand D30 Claudio Marforio Dr. of Science ETH Zurich, CEO Sound-Proof Nikos Karapanos PhD Student ETH Zurich, CTO Sound-Proof The speakers Claudio is a young entrepreneur born in Italy and now working in Switzerland. Nikos plays a key role at Sound-Proof leading both IT research as well as marketing and sales management. 72 The topic We often read in the news that passwords are stolen and leaked, and that hackers can then compromise user accounts. This is a very significant threat that costs the industry billions of dollars every year. Two-factor authentication is a promising solution to this problem. Unfortunately, deployed solutions (for example, Google 2Step Verification or RSA SecurID which are based on one-time codes) are cumbersome for the users and see little adoption. Sound-Proof is the first two-factor authentication solution for online services that does not require the user to interact with his phone. Sound-Proof can replace code-based two-factor authentication that is slow and cumbersome for the user. The organization Sound-proof is a startup company providing seamless two-factor authentication for the Web. It enables an effective protection of online accounts, even if passwords are leaked. 73 Cyber Security: Your Excuses are Void Workshop When: Thursday, March 17th, 2016, 12h30 – 13h00 Where: SWISS Pavilion Arena, hall 6, stand D30 Florian Schütz Business Development Manager Cyber & Intelligence The speaker Florian is an out-of-the-box thinking cyber specialist who combines skills in technology, economics and politics.
