3. international Wilson´s
surgical course in penile
implant surgery
Training on body donors and live surgery
27. /28. November 2014
Invitation
Program
Dear colleagues,
Agenda: Surgery on body donors
We are looking forward to welcoming you in Kiel to
the 3rd international andrological Wilson’s workshop:
Surgical Course, Cadaver and Live Surgical Workshop
on penile implants. We feel lucky that we have been able
yet again to engage Prof. SK Wilson, a renowned expert
in the field of implant surgery from California, USA. The
success of the first two workshops has encouraged us to
organize this event again. This course is addressed both
to colleagues who are about to initiate penile implant
surgery in their home institutions and to experienced
penile surgery experts looking for the latest updates.
Over the last years, there have been revolutionary
improvements in the Coloplast implant, which offer new
opportunities for the benefit of the patients. We shall discuss
all medical and technical aspects of Titan® penile implants
by presenting the new “Touch” pump of the Titan® model.
Furthermore, we are going to show different application
scenarios from primary implantations to salvage operations.
The unique highlight of the symposium on day one
will be a surgical training course on body donors in the
Institute of Anatomy. This hands-on workshop will
provide ample opportunity for practical experience and
interaction between experts and participants. There will
be two to three participants and one expert per body
donor. Prof. Wilson will demonstrate an implantation
step by step, and the participants will be able to repeat
all surgical steps on their body donor, while being able to
follow the procedure on large flat screens with images of
both the top-view and an enlarged laparoscopic view.
For day two, we have scheduled three in vivo surgeries with
live video transmission to the conference room. During the
performance, the participants will have the opportunity
to discuss the tricks and challenges of each procedure
with the surgeon. In the intervals between surgeries there
will be presentations discussing all theoretical aspects.
We will be happy to welcome you in Kiel.
