Dear Star Alliance Customer,
At the beginning of June Swiss International Air Lines welcomed the Chief Executives of the Star Alliance member airlines
to Zurich for their annual summer meeting. The delegation arrived on an exclusive flight operated by the new Bombardier
CS100 aircraft branded in the livery of its launch customer SWISS. The airline was hosting the Alliance's Chief Executive
Board Meeting as part of its celebrations to mark 10 years since it joined Star Alliance in April 2006.
At the meeting two major decisions were taken:
First, the Chief Executive Board of Star Alliance appointed Jeffrey Goh as the Alliance's Chief Executive, effective 1st
January 2017, to succeed Mark Schwab, who will retire at the end of the year and
Second, the Chief Executive Board of Star Alliance gave the go-ahead for new technology investment and wide-ranging
enhancements to operational processes to meet the evolving demands of today’s travellers: namely you! This includes
initiatives such as optimizing baggage processes, standardizing processes for off-airport / self-service check-in, for fast bag
drop technology at airports, for baggage self-tagging and for automated travel document validation.
Serving the customers with high standards, consistently, on a global scale has always been at the center of the Star Alliance
strategy.

ANA is Offering Neal’s Yard Amenities in Business Class
ANA, Japan’s largest airline, is the first airline to offer Neal’s Yard Remedies as in-flight amenities from now on.
These amenities will be offered in business class on long-haul international flights such as flights between Japan and
Europe, North America (excluding Honolulu) and Sydney.

Austrian Airlines launches flight service to Isfahan
Austrian Airlines will increase its flight offering to Iran starting with the autumn flight schedule 2016.
As of Sunday September 4, 2016, Austria’s national carrier will operate three weekly flights to the Iranian trading city Isfahan.
In addition to the existing flight service to Teheran, Austrian Airlines is thus further expanding its route portfolio to Iranian
destinations, and will offer up to 16 direct flights each week to Iran in the future.
Best connections are guaranteed through the 8 daily existing flight connections of Austrian Airlines between Vienna and Zurich
(4 flights in cooperation with our partner SWISS) With the up to 4 daily flights from Geneva to Vienna and the two daily flights
from Basle to Vienna, flightservices between Switzerland and Austrian are particularily advantageous.

Brussels Airlines offers Economy Plus
From now on, Brussels Airline’s customers who fly to Africa, the US or Canada have the choice out of 3 classes
instead of 2.
Economy Plus is Brussels Airline’s answer for passengers travelling in Economy Class who want a comfort upgrade. Economy
Plus travellers sit on the first 4 rows of the Economy Class cabin, can enjoy more leg room and can relax in an Economy seat
that reclines 20 degrees instead of 8 degrees for optimal comfort. Before their meal they get treated to a glass of champagne
and luxury items like an amenity kit, a hot towel, a linen pillow and a Neuhaus chocolate giftbox. On every Airbus 330 aircraft,
the airline offers 32 Economy Plus seats on the first 4 rows of the Economy Class cabin.

Fly Lufthansa again from Munich to Denver
Since May 2016 Lufthansa flies again via Munich to Denver.
Flight number LH 480 departs five times a week from Munich at 11.45. The return flight from Denver arrives in Munich at
10.05. This extends Lufthansa’s daily services from Frankfurt. The Airbus A330-300 offers you the latest cabin interior in all
classes, including 21 seats in Premium Economy Class.
Via Star Alliance partner United Airlines’ Denver hub you can take connecting flights to around 85 destinations in North
America, including popular destinations such as Phoenix, Las Vegas and Seattle.
The metropolitan region of Denver with around 2.5 million inhabitants lies exactly one mile above sea level and is one of the
most popular regions in the USA. Traditional mining companies and large telecommunication companies are based there.
Other important industries are energy and logistics.

The most comfortable way to the US
During the spring, we launched two new routes to the US: Stockholm-Los Angeles and Copenhagen-Boston. And in
September, it’s time for two more: Oslo-Miami and Copenhagen-Miami.
We already fly direct from Scandinavia to New York, Washington DC, Chicago and San Francisco. All in all, this means that in
2016, we will have completed 6 800 flights between the US and Scandinavia, with capacity for a total of 1.6 million
passengers.
Because in recent years we have invested heavily in our long-haul fleet, we can offer extra comfortable travel to the US with
fresh new cabins, comfortable, wide seats, on-demand entertainment, high-definition screens and WiFi. In SAS Business, all
seats also have easy access to the aisle and can be fully flattened into beds. It’s an investment that has paid off in many ways.
In February, SAS was named the Best Intercontinental Company in the travel industry’s equivalent of the Oscars, and
thedesignair.net named us the “Most Improved Carrier Europe 2015.”

Singapore Airlines expands US operations with non-stop San Francisco flights and second
daily Los Angeles Service
Singapore Airlines (SIA) is to launch non-stop flights between Singapore and San Francisco and will add a second
daily service to Los Angeles in an expansion of its US operations. The non-stop Singapore-San Francisco flights will
be operated on a daily basis with effect from 23 October 2016 using Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
SIA currently serves San Francisco twice-daily, with one flight operating via Hong Kong and the other via Seoul Incheon. With
the launch of non-stop Singapore-San Francisco services, the Singapore-Seoul-San Francisco flight will be re-routed to
operate as a Singapore-Seoul-Los Angeles service, also from 23 October 2016. This will result in a second daily service to Los
Angeles, complementing existing flights that operate on a Singapore-Tokyo Narita-Los Angeles routing.
Flying time for the new Singapore-San Francisco services will be between 14:35hrs and 17:45hrs depending on direction and
time of year, over a journey of around 13,600km. They will be the longest flights in SIA’s network until 2018, when a new
variant of the A350-900 will enter service, enabling even longer flights between Singapore and both Los Angeles and New
York. SIA is the launch customer for the new variant, the A350-900ULR, with seven of the type on order.
In addition to San Francisco and Los Angeles, SIA’s US network includes flights to Houston via Moscow and New York JFK
via Frankfurt.

SWISS takes the Jura region aloft
Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) will be offering its premium long-haul guests culinary delights from
Switzerland’s Jura region for the next three months.
The latest chapter in the award-winning “SWISS Taste of Switzerland” inflight catering concept showcases creations from the
Hôtel-Restaurant du Cerf in Sonceboz. The Jura region will also be highlighted in the latest “SWISS Traditions” feature, which
will focus on the local “Marché-Concours” festival between 3 and 16 August.

New route will expand ANA´s network between Asia and the Americas
ANA, die größte japanische Fluggesellschaft, arbeitet ab sofort mit Neal’s Yard zusammen: Gäste der Business Class auf den

Austrian Airlines – neu nach Isfahan
Austrian Airlines stockt ihr Flugangebot in den Iran auf.
Ab 04. September 2016 hebt die österreichische Fluglinie bis zu drei Mal pro Woche in die iranische Handelsstadt Isfahan ab.
Teheran wird sogar bis zu zwei Mal täglich angeflogen. Somit baut Austrian Airlines mit Isfahan ihr Portfolio weiter aus und
wird zukünftig bis zu 18 wöchentliche Verbindungen ab Wien in den Iran anbieten.
Durch die 8 täglichen Flüge von Austrian Airlines ab Zürich (vier davon in Kooperation mit SWISS), bestehen ausgezeichnete
Verbindungen von/nach Wien. Verbindungen nach Wien werden zudem durch die vier täglichen Flüge ab Genf und zwei
täglichen Flüge ab Basel gewährleistet.

Seit Mai 2016 fliegt Sie Lufthansa wieder via München nach Denver.
Die Verbindung unter der Flugnummer LH 480 startet fünfmal pro Woche um 11.45 Uhr ab München. Der Rückflug aus
Denver erreicht die bayerische Landeshauptstadt um 10.05 Uhr. Damit ergänzt Lufthansa ihr tägliches Angebot ab Frankfurt.

Ein völlig neues Reiseerlebnis in die USA
Im Frühling haben wir zwei neue Routen in die USA eröffnet: Stockholm-Los Angeles und Kopenhagen-Boston. Im
September folgen dann Oslo-Miami und Kopenhagen-Miami.
Unser bestehendes Flugangebot nach New York, Washington, Chicago und San Francisco wird so um drei weitere attraktive
Ziele erweitert.
Insgesamt werden wir 2016 6.800 Flüge zwischen Skandinavien und den USA mit Platz für 1,6 Millionen Passagiere anbieten.
An Bord kommen Passagiere in den Genuss unserer modernisierten Langstreckenkabine. In den letzten Monaten wurden alle
SAS Langstreckenmaschinen umgerüstet, sodass wir nun auf allen Strecken unser neues Produkt anbieten können.
Die ultra-moderne Inneneinrichtung bietet mit neuen Sitzen in allen drei Serviceklassen, einem On-DemandUnterhaltungssystem mit großen HD-Bildschirmen sowie WLAN-Zugang größeren Kabinenkomfort. Alle Sitze in SAS Business

Singapore Airlines erweitert das Streckennetz in den USA mit Non-Stop Flügen nach San
Francisco und zwei täglichen Flügen nach Los Angeles
Singapore Airlines (SIA) führt eine neue Non-Stop Route zwischen Singapur und San Francisco ein. Ein zweiter Flug
nach Los Angeles ist ein weiterer Schritt für die Expansion des US-Geschäfts der Airline. Die neue Non-Stop Strecke
Singapur-San Francisco wird ab dem 23. Oktober 2016 täglich mit dem Airbus A350-900 angeflogen.
Derzeit fliegt Singapore Airlines zweimal täglich über Hong Kong oder Seoul Incheon nach San Francisco. Mit der Einführung
des neuen Non-Stop Flugs Singapur-San Francisco wird die bisherige Verbindung Singapur-Seoul-San Francisco zu einer
neuen Strecke Singapur-Seoul-Los Angeles geändert, welche ebenfalls ab dem 23. Oktober 2016 angeflogen wird. Neben der
jetzigen täglichen Verbindung Singapur-Tokyo Narita-Los Angeles bietet die Airline damit eine zweite tägliche Verbindung
nach Los Angeles an.
Je nach Flugrichtung und Jahreszeit wird die Flugzeit der neuen Strecke Singapur-San Francisco bei einer Strecke von etwa
13.600 km zwischen 14:35 h und 17:45 h dauern. Vorerst werden die beiden Flüge die längsten Flüge sein, die das
Singapore Airlines-Netzwerk anbietet. Der neue A350-900, der ab 2018 in Betrieb genommen werden soll, wird in Zukunft
jedoch noch längere Flüge nach Los Angeles und New York anbieten. Mit sieben Bestellungen wird Singapore Airlines der
Markteinführer der neuen Ausführung, dem A350-900ULR, sein.
Zusätzlich zu San Francisco und Los Angeles beinhaltet das USA- Netzwerk von Singapore Airlines Flüge nach Houston über
Moskau und nach New York JFK über Frankfurt.

SWISS begrüsst die Region Jura an Bord
Ab Anfang Juni verköstigt Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) ihre Gäste mit kulinarischen Highlights aus der
Region Jura.
Im Rahmen des preisgekrönten Konzeptes „SWISS Taste of Switzerland“ werden Menüs des Hôtel-Restaurants du Cerf aus
Sonceboz serviert. Zudem feiert die Fluggesellschaft mit „SWISS Traditions“ vom 3. bis 16 August den „Marché-Concours“.
