Via subsidiaries in the USA and Australia, HOCHTIEF won new contracts worth a combined
total of EUR 125 million. US subsidiary Turner as member of a joint venture will provide
design build services for Bachelor Enlisted Quarters (BEQ) at Camp Pendleton, California,
for the United States Marine Corps for approximately EUR 74 million (USD 109 million).
Turner‘s share amounts to EUR 48 million (USD 71 million). John Holland, a company of
HOCHTIEF subsidiary Leighton, only recently secured a contract for a freeway section. In an
alliance, the company will construct the EUR 119 million (AUD 200 million) Western Freeway
west of Melbourne. John Holland’s share is more than EUR 77 million (AUD 130 million).
The new US Marine residences will house more than 1,500 marines and be completed by
August 2011. The project is a follow-up contract: Only in August did Turner take on a similar
project at Camp Pendleton for almost EUR 70 million (USD 104 million). The section of the
Western Freeway on which John Holland will work from 2010 will link the towns of Melton
and Bacchus Marsh. To this end, the alliance will build, among others, a new interchange
and bridges. The project is scheduled for completion in early 2012.
