GWO BST – General Comments
The introduction of the GWO BST Standard has much facilitated safety
training both for customers and training providers:
 Published and transparent
 Best practice based on international experience (GWO members)
 Valid for the Wind Industry referencing to a common, mutually accepted
standard, recognized by other bodies (e. g. RUK) and supported by
EWEA
The GWO supporting companies have committed themselves to comply with
the BST Standard after a transition period from
March 2012 to March 2013. This self-commitment and requiring
subcontractors to comply as well, covers the majority of the market.
