ie Überraschung war gelungen,
als uns Anfang letzten Jahres von
YAMAHA Europa die Teilnahme am
›Yard Built‹ Wettbewerb angeboten
wurde. Zusammen mit dem dänischen
Designer-Team der ›Wrenchmonkees‹
sollten wir die neue SR400 umgestalten, um so deren Markteinführung zu
unterstützen. Dabei herausgekommen
ist die ›GibbonSlap‹. Dieses KonzeptMotorrad wurde im November 2013
auf der Motorshow in Mailand der
Öffentlichkeit vorgestellt.

YAMAHA Europe offered us to partici­
pate in their ’Yard Built’ competition at
the beginning of last year.
The assignment was to convert the new
SR400, in cooperation with the danish
Design-Team ’Wrenchmonkees’, as part
of the support for market launch. The
’GibbonSlap’ was born.
This concept bike was introduced to
the public at the Milan Motorshow in
November 2013.
Matt, schwarz und reduziert auf das
Nötigste – ein pures Motorrad dem
Wortsinn nach. Anstatt alles Mögliche
anzuschrauben, wählten die Wrenchmonkees die entgegengesetzte Richtung und schraubten möglichst viel ab.
Die GibbonSlap will tägliche Gefährtin
sein, gleichermaßen geeignet für den
Weg zur Arbeit, zum Café oder Baggersee. Unscheinbar, aber nicht unauffällig

direction and actually screwed off as
much as possible.
The GibbonSlap wants to be a daily
companion, as convenient for the
commute to work, as a trip for coffee
or fun at the lake. Inconspicuous, but
not ordinary; always practical.
Affordable and enjoyable for everyone.
In addition to providing ideas and parts,
it was our part of the project to crea­
te affordable kits from the one-off, hand
made designer parts.

alle Teile der nachfolgenden Liste
verfügbar sein.
Many parts of the new SR400 Gibbon­
Slap are already available; by the sum­
mer 2014, we plan to have all listed
parts in stock.
This has made it possible to take a pro­
duction line SR400 and build an indivi­
dually customized bike, simply and inex­
pensively.
Gibbonslap
und dabei möglichst praxistauglich und
für jedermann nachvollzieh- und bezahlbar. Unser Part bei dem Projekt war es,
neben der Zulieferung von Ideen und
Teilen, aus den einzeln handgefertigten
Designerteilen einen bezahlbaren Kit
zu erstellen, mit dessen Hilfe eine serienmäßige SR400 so einfach und preiswert wie möglich in ein indivi­duelles
Custombike umgewandelt werden kann.
