Double Degree in Kooperation mit der
University of Glamorgan, Wales, UK
Für Studierende der Fakultät Wirtschaft, die im letzten Studienjahr im Ausland
studieren können (derzeit v.a. DLM und STL)
Kurzbeschreibung:
 Zulassungsvoraussetzung: Studierende im letzten Studienjahr, d.h. 2 Jahre an der
DHBW abgeschlossen und min. 120 ECTS Punkte erreicht. Eine Bestätigung kann
durch das International Office ausgestellt werden.
 Glamorgan erkennt die bis dahin gesammelten 120 ECTS an.
 Studierende studieren 1 Semester in Glamorgan und belegen dabei 4-5 Module
(entweder im Fall oder Spring Semester). Dafür vergibt Glamorgan 30 ECTS.
 Studierende belegen zusätzlich ein „work-based learning“ Modul, wofür Glamorgan
weitere 30 ECTS vergibt. Erfolgt das Studium im Fall Semester, so findet das „workbased learning“ Modul im darauf folgenden Spring Semester statt. Ist das Studium im
Spring Semester geplant, so wird das „work-based-learning“ Modul vorgeschaltet und
findet im Fall Semester vor dem geplanten Studium in Glamorgan statt. Damit haben
die Studierenden 180 ECTS angesammelt und erhalten den Bachelor von Glamorgan.
Semesterzeiten:
1) Fall Semester:
Oktober – Dezember
2) Spring Semester: Jan. – Ostern *
* Das Semester in Glamorgan endet erst Anfang Juni, aber die DHBW Studierenden kehren
nach Ostern an die DHBW zurück und beginnen das 6. Semester. Die Klausuren der
University of Glamorgan können an die DHBW geschickt und zeitgleich mit den britischen
Studenten unter DHBW-Aufsicht geschrieben werden.
Achtung: Die Einschreibung in Glamorgan ist für beide Semester notwendig, allerdings kann
das Studium in Glamorgan sowohl im Fall als auch im Spring Semester stattfinden (s.
Kurzbeschreibung)
Work-based Learning Module:
Die Studierenden verfassen ihre Projektarbeit (nicht die Bachelorarbeit!) auf Englisch (5.000
– 6.000 Wörter). Zusätzlich sollte in einer Art Einleitung der Ausbildungsbetrieb vorgestellt
werden (ca. 2.000 Wörter) und abschließend ein „self-reflecting“ Teil mit ca. 2.000 Wörtern
angeschlossen werden.

Studiengebühren:
Die Studiengebühren für ein gesamtes Jahr in Glamorgan sind £ 9.000.
EU Staatsbürger erhalten aber ein Stipendium „grant“ in Höhe von £ 5.355. Dadurch
liegen die zu bezahlenden Studiengebühren für das Doppelabschluss-Programm
lediglich bei: £ 3.465.
Unterkunft wird über die Uni vermittelt und läuft als online Verfahren, sobald die
Bewerber angenommen sind.

Bewerbungsablauf in der Beschreibung der University of Glamorgan:
Section 1: Applicant Details
You will need to provide your personal details and ensure they are correct before saving; this
information will then form the basis of your University student record.
Section 2: Proposed Course
As an applicant from a European partner you have the opportunity to apply to a number of
exciting courses at the University of Glamorgan. In section 2 of your application you will
select one of the courses listed below, as discussed with your institution.
In order to select your course you need to input the course title (shown below) into the ‘course
search’ facility excluding the type of award (BA) and by selecting the year of entry, for
example 2012.
Course search results will appear at the bottom of the page. You need to ensure you select
Entry Month 9, Entry Year 2012, Point of Entry 3 and Study Mode FT before selecting ‘Add
Choice’.
Section 3: Further Applicant Details
Once you have selected your proposed course, the next stage of the application form requires
you to provide details of your permanent home address and a correspondence address.
Providing these contact details help us ensure you don’t miss out on receiving any
information about your studies at the University of Glamorgan.
Section 4: Qualifications
The next stage of the application form regards you to add your qualifications. As you are
applying from one of our European partners, it’s important that you provide the full official
title of your institution here to help us identify which European partner you are applying from.

Section 5: Work Experience
The work experience section of the application form is not a mandatory field and can be left
blank. However if you wish to tell us about your work experience, please feel free. Here you
can add details about previous jobs and what they have entailed.
Section 6: Funding
This section is important for our finance division. From the drop down box provided you will
need to select: 'European Partner’ or 'Myself’ dependent on whether or not your institution
will be paying your fees or if you will be responsible for your own fees.
Section 7: Personal Statement
Please provide a short statement of why you wish to undertake study at the University of
Glamorgan. The personal statement is your opportunity to tell us about your suitability for the
course(s) that you hope to study.
Section 8: Language Skills
As you will be studying at a British institution. You will need to confirm if you have
completed any English language examinations such as IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge etc. This
will help us ensure you have the appropriate language skills to communicate in English.
Section 9: Referee Details
A reference is not required as a member of a European Partnership Institution, however this
section is mandatory. We would therefore like you to provide the details of your school
contact.
Section 10: Required Information
To help us reduce the risk of harm or injury to our students and staff caused by the criminal
behaviour of other students, you will be required to provide accurate information if you have
a relevant criminal conviction.
Additional information

Ethnic monitoring: Please complete this section to assist us with our Ethnic
Monitoring. This section helps ensure that if you have a specific needs will are able to
provide the necessary support or facilities.

Supporting documents: Provide copy of ECTS transcript if available.

Declaration: Preview application and ensure it is accurate. Tick the box to confirm and

Next steps
Once you have submitted your application it will automatically be sent to the Enquiries and
Admissions Unit for processing. The Unit will aim to process your application within 5
working days. If we should require any further information in relation to your application, you
may receive an email from a member of staff. This will sent to the email address you
registered with and you should check this regularly for information from the University.

Your application is checked to ensure we have all the required information and ensure
that you are studying towards achieving 120 ECTS credits

Once the application has been checked we will make a standard offer; Unconditional
offer if you already have 120 ECTS credits and have provided a copy of your
qualifications or a Conditional offer if you have not yet achieved 120 ECTS credits
Once your form has been processed and a decision made you will receive an email confirming
our decision. This will be sent to the email address you registered with.

Apply online
Applications to the University of Glamorgan are completed online via the University’s online
application form. When you are applying online, it is essential that you check the help text on
each section to ensure that you have provided all the necessary information.

Register to apply
In order to submit an application all applicants must register using a current email address and
memorable password. Once you have successfully registered you will be taken to the ‘Apply
online Dashboard’ where you will begin completing the application form.

If you are studying at our Treforest or Glyntaff campuses you have two options to choose
from. Most students in their first year choose to stay at our halls of residence whilst some will
opt for private sector accommodation. If you wish to stay in halls of residence you can opt to
stay at either Glamorgan Court or Mountain Halls which are situated on the Treforest campus.

The Treforest Halls of Residence are situated on our Treforest campus making it convenient
for all on-campus facilities such as the Learning Resources Centre, computer rooms, the
sports centre and the Students’ Union.
