Win a week in England!
You still don’t know what to do this summer? Well here’s your chance to win a one-week
language course in Kent, England! Free4Fun and ETC (English Travel Connections) are
giving away two trips to Rochester. This historic city is less than an hour’s drive from
London and close to1 the sea resort of Herne Bay. It is also the home of one of England’s
most famous writers, Charles Dickens.
The town of Rochester is in Southeast England. Charles Dickens often wrote about it in
his books. His home, Gad's Hill, is there, too. A popular attraction is Rochester Castle, a
large Norman fortress2. It was built in the 11th century and rebuilt3 during the 14th
century. Other attractions are Rochester Cathedral, which was built during the 13th
century, and Dickens Centre.
1
close to – nahe bei

Looking for youth hostels
Is she a real friend
A home for a pet
Hi folks,
I’ m looking for a good youth
hostel where I can spend my
holidays. Any country is ok.
Please tell me something
about the area, the hostel and
its rooms, the sports facilities
and the sights near there.
Thanks for your help.
Ben, 14
I was ill for one week. When I
came back to school, my best
friend didn’t talk to me. She
didn’t want to sit next to me.
During the breaks she talked
and laughed with the other
girls. I don’t like them. That’s
why I didn’t go to them but I
miss her.
What can I do?
Jo, 13
I’ ve always wanted a pet but
my parents said no. Then I
had an accident. I couldn’t
walk for a long time and I
can’t even run today. My
parents want to buy a pet
now. But I’m not sure. Is a
rabbit, a hamster or a little
dog the right pet for me?
What do you think?
And what do I need for that
pet?
Elisa, 13
