Biografie von Cecilia Condit
1947 geboren, studierte Condit Bildhauerei am Philadelphia College of Art und Fotografie an der Tyler School of Art,
Temple University. Festivals und Museen weltweit zeigten
ihre Arbeiten, darunter das Museum of Modern Art in New
York. In ihrer Kunst arbeitet sie mit Video, Super-8-Film
und Found Footage. Musik und gesungene Dialoge, autobiografische und archetypische Referenzen spielen in ihren
Arbeiten eine wichtige Rolle. Condit unterrichtet Film an
der University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Two young women are pursued in a shopping mall by a
cannibal. In a surreal suburban setting, victims become
aggressors, the familiar becomes the fantastic. Possibly
in Michigan intermixes horror and humour, sexuality
and violence. Cecilia Condit's feminist fairytales give a
subversive twist to traditional Freudian metaphors and
female representations.
Biography of Cecilia Condit
Born in 1947, Condit studied sculpture at Philadelphia
College of Art and photography at the Tyler School of Art,
Temple University. Her work has been shown at festivals
and museums all over the world, including the Museum
of Modern Art in New York. She works with videos, super
8 film and found footage. Music and sing-song dialogues,
autobiographical and archetypal references also play an
important role in her films. Condit teaches film at the
University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Dinçel. Erst ist sie neun Jahre alt, dann zwölf. Sie hört,
wie die Menschen um sie herum ihre Gewohnheiten beanstanden, Anspruch auf ihren Körper erheben. Auch der
Zuschauer tut dies letztendlich, wenn er ihr bei diesem intimen Akt zuschaut.
Biografie von Nazlı Dinçel
Geboren in der Türkei, zog Dinçel mit siebzehn Jahren in die
USA. Durch diesen Kultur- und Sprachwechsel früh mit sozialen Mustern vertraut, ist es vor allem Sprache und das Verschwinden derselben, was sie in ihren Arbeiten interessiert.
A young girl explores her sexuality. In a humorous,
impetuous and provocative manner, Dinçel shares with us
her personal memories. First she's nine, then twelve years
old. She hears how the people around her object to her
habits, lay claim to her body. The viewer ultimately does
the same when watching her perform this intimate act.
Biography of Nazlı Dinçel
Born in Turkey, Dinçel moved to the USA at the age of
seventeen. Familiar from an early age with different social
patterns as a result of her exposure to a new culture and
language, she is interested first and foremost in her work in
language and disappearance.
