Sie zeigen Spannung und Entspannung, Bewegung und Gegenbewegung. Sie sind Energie, Kraft und Vitalität. Mein Material ist Edelstahl: Es ist kühl, elegant und funktionell. Meine Formen kommen aus dem Pop und dem Comic. Die so entsehende Spannung zwischen Funktionalität und Spiel, ist ein weiteres Element meiner Arbeit. Das ist meine Art der Schönheit zu huldigen. Zachary Thornton Ich finde die Inspiration für meine Bilder in der Nacht: Das unheimliche Licht, die stummen Bäume, die Häuser, deren Inneres erleuchtet ist, die Alles bedeckende Dunkelheit und die stille, allgegenwärtige Einsamkeit. Die Personen, die in dieser mehrdeutigen Atmosphäre erscheinen, verkörpern einen separaten und persönlichen inneren Konflikt, eine Welt in einer anderen, die von sich gerade soviel preisgibt, daß der Betrachter neugierig wird und ihre Identität, ihre Bestimmung und ihre Situation entdeckt wünscht. Meine Technik ist von traditionellem Malen, Fotografie und vom Film beeinflußt. Vom Letzteren besonders in der dramatischen Darstellung und der Komposition. López-Herrera Meine Bilder sind gegenständlich. Allerdings haben sie auch etwas Irrationales und Mysteriöses. Die dargestellte Wirklichkeit ist also meine Wirklichkeit. Ich bemühe mich, wenn ich ein Bild male, alles so lange wie möglich in einem Schwebezustand zu halten, nichts zu fixieren, so daß sich der Prozess von einem chaotischen Möglichen zu etwas Organisiertem so natürlich wie möglich vollzieht.
