A visit from the little wolf
A visit from the little wolf

On Sunday a little wolf sneaks into the empty kindergarden,
He sniffs at the toy cars. He sniffs at the red, blue and
yellow glass beads. He sniffs at a wooden goat and thinks
to himself: “I want to stay here!”

Then he discovers a tower made of blocks. He climbs up,
but then ... crash! The tower collapses and the little
wolf tumbles to the floor! He slips into a soft slipper
and falls asleep.

On Monday morning the little wolf is awoken by the loud
voices of children. He darts quickly under the cupboard
and the slippers of the children clatter past him, as well as
the big blue gym shoes of Miss Sonja.

The little wolf hears the children’s laughter. He peeks out
carefully from under the cupboard. The children are
making music. They are skipping and dancing and singing
a song about a goat.
10 | 11
During the night all the children have disappeared. The little
wolf climbs on to a table. He takes paper and a paintbrush
and begins to paint. Softly he hums the song about the goat
that he likes so much.
12 | 13
On Tuesday a roll of sticky tape rolls under the cupboard
towards the little wolf. He pushes the roll back. Then he sees
how the children are stretching big sheets of corrugated
cardboard round two of the tables. They are making a ship.

During the night the little wolf tries to do a jigsaw puzzle.
But what’s that, that smells so good?
16 | 17
On Wednesday the little wolf hears Miss Sonja scolding:
“Who has been nibbling at the birthday cake?” But then she
decorates the cake with new candy lowers. The children
draw and write their wishes on little paper flags. They stick
these into the cake and sing a birthday song for Anna.
18 | 19
“Tonight I want to write too”, thinks the little wolf and he
looks for coloured pencils. He writes and draws until
the following morning. It is Thursday. The children rush
noisily into the playhouse.
20 | 21
In one leap the little wolf jumps into a half opened drawer.
Just at that moment Miss Sonja arrives. She murmurs:
“The children should be tidier” and she closes the drawer.
“Ouch!”. The wolf has stuck his paw in the drawer.
22 | 23
Luckily he is able to free his paw and stick his nose out
of the drawer. He sees a small witch setting the table.
A magician is cutting carrots. Two children are quarrelling
over a wolf ’s mask. The little wolf finds this funny.

During the night the little wolf assembles the wooden
railway lines and lets the trains run. He builds a tower,
a railway station and a stable for the goats.
26 | 27
On Friday the little wolf pricks up his ears as he listens
to Miss Sonja telling the story of Red Riding Hood.
He likes fairy tales. But he doesn’t want to hear about the
hunter with the rifle. He covers his ears with both paws.
28 | 29
During the night the little wolf takes all the picture
books down from the shelf and looks at them for a long
time, one after the other.
30 | 31
“Why is it so quiet today?” wonders the little wolf on Saturday.
A big broom is pushed under the cupboard and it pulls the
little wolf out of his hiding place. The cleaning lady calls out:
“How pretty, a little wolf! I’ll put him in the doll’s pram!”
32 | 33
On Sunday the little wolf is left in peace.
He cooks a fine alphabet soup on the doll’s cooker …
34 | 35
And he invites all the dolls, soft toys and wooden goats,
whom he now loves so fondly, to a party!
