Participants are encouraged to arrange this with their place of
accommodation. However, should this not be possible, a daily
shuttle leaves every morning from the airport to the Academy. Prior
arrangements must be made with the Academy for pick up times and
location.

Arrive at the Training Centre 30 minutes before the course is due to
begin. Locate and meet the Global Training on-site administrator
and / or the course instructor(s). Settle any outstanding
administrative matters: fee payment, badge etc. Meet your fellow
course participants.

the duration of the course as this is required to enter the Training
Academy premises.

Reservation process
Global Training course participants are responsible for making
their own hotel reservations by contacting one of the above
mentioned hotels or making other arrangements. Each hotel will
offer the best available rate

Visa requirements
Passport valid for at least 30 days after the intended date
of departure is required by all nationals referred to in the chart
above.
Passport must have at least one blank page for entry
stamp.
Passengers who also require a visa must have a passport with
two blank facing pages, one for the visa and one for their
entry stamp. Anyone attempting to enter South Africa without
the required pages will be returned to their country of origin.
Visas are not required by all nationals from Australia, Canada,
United Kingdom and USA. All other nationalities should check
with the closest South African Consulate or Embassy.
Note: The above list is subject to change at short notice; please
check with the South African Consulate or Embassy closest to
you before travelling. ACI Global Training will provide a letter of
invitation upon payment of the registration fee.
Please be sure to obtain your visa well in advance of your
departure.
Health requirements
A yellow fever certificate is required for all travellers coming from
infected areas. Vaccinations against Diptheria, Hepatitis A and
Tetanus are sometimes advised
Mobile phone systems
South Africa operates on the GSM 900/1800 frequency with
service provided by three major carriers.
Electricity and plugs
The electricity in South Africa is 220volts and the frequency 50Hz.
The electrical plugs and sockets are as pictured
below:
Participants are advised to purchase the relevant adaptor for their
electronic equipment as these will not be provided by the Academy.
Local currency and Exchange
Rand (ZAR; symbol R) = 100 cents. Notes are in denominations of
R200, 100, 50, 20 and 10. Coins are in denominations of R5, 2 and
1, and 50, 20, 10 and 5 cents.

Money can be changed at banks, bureaux de change and some
hotels. Proof of identity may be requested; therefore, it is
advisable to carry a passport. Visitors are restricted to bringing in
and taking out a maximum of R5000 in cash. MasterCard and
Visa are preferred. American Express and Diners Club are also
widely accepted. ATMs are available all over the towns and cities
including shopping malls and petrol stations, and accept all
international debit and credit cards. Almost all hotels, shops and
restaurants, and even national parks and game reserves accept
credit cards. Traveller’s cheques are valid at banks, hotels,
r e s t a u r a n t s and some t o u r i s t -orientated s h o p s . To avoid
additional exchange rate charges, travellers are advised to take
traveller's cheques in Pounds Sterling or US Dollars.
