In Österreich gibt es prozentual gesehen den höchsten Bio-BauernAnteil in der Europäischen Union. Es ist somit nicht verwunderlich,
dass in Österreich Bio Lebensmittel einen beachtlichen Teil zum
Umsatz des Lebensmittelhandels beitragen. Gleichzeitig sind
die Biobetriebe, die Verarbeitungsbetriebe und Vermarkter von
ökologisch erzeugten Produkten bestrebt, auf den internationalen
Märkten neue Geschäftspartner zu finden.
Es liegt daher nahe, dass auch in diesem Jahr wieder zahlreiche österreichische Firmen
auf der Biofach 2015 in Nürnberg, der größten und wichtigsten Biofachmesse der Welt
teilnehmen, um neue Interessenten, Kunden und Vertriebspartner für die qualitativ
hochwertigen und streng nach den Biorichtlinien kontrollierten österreichischen
Lebensmittelspezialitäten zu gewinnen.
Das vorliegende Heft soll Ihnen den Rundgang durch die österreichische Biowirtschaft
erleichtern und Ihnen die österreichischen Ausstellerfirmen mit ihrem umfangreichen,
wohlschmeckenden und gesundem Angebot anlässlich der Biofach 2015 in Nürnberg
vorstellen.

Das national und international vielfach
ausgezeichnete Weingut liegt im südlichen
Weinviertel ungefähr 20 km vor den Toren
Wiens. Die Weingärten befinden sich auf
den ersten Hügeln dieses Gebietes.
Bewirtschaftet werden die Reben seit den
1980er-Jahren freiwillig nach organisch
biologischen Richtlinien, seit 2001 wird
auch kontrollierte Bio-Landwirtschaft
betrieben. Dadurch soll nicht nur die Natur
geschützt, sondern dem Konsumenten
auch ein Stück Natur ins Weinglas gebracht werden.
Seit 2003 betreibt die Familie auch einen
Heurigen. Gäste werden mit den eigenen
Weinen und ausgesuchten Bio-Schmankerln bewirtet, die bei Schönwetter im
schattigen Gastgarten genossen werden
können.
Winner of numerous national and international awards, the winemaker is based
around 20km from Vienna in the Southern
Weinviertel. The vineyard is located on the
area’s first hill.
The vines have been grown to organic
standards since the 1980s on a voluntary
basis and since 2001 Hofer also has certified organic agriculture. This not only
serves to protect nature’s bounty, but also
brings consumers a piece of nature in their
wineglass.
The family has also run a Heuriger (classic
wine tavern) since 2003. Guests can enjoy
home-grown wines and selected organic
treats inside or in the shady garden.

BIO vom BERG is the brand of the Tyrolean
organic mountain farmers, who now have
their own brand for the first time. The
Bioalpin association, founded in April 2002,
manages this brand. All of the members,
currently more than 40, are organic farmers or organic producers.
BIO vom BERG comes from a unique cultural landscape, which is closely tied to a
sustainable form of farming. We are certain
of one thing:
BIO (organic) has its origins in the BERGEN
(mountains). The association markets and
distributes organic products from the Tyrolean Alpine mountain area.
The treasures yielded by organic agriculture in the Alps can only be sustained if it
is experienced by consumers. The sale of
choice organic products is therefore the
central task of Bioalpin. Bioalpin coordinates producers, develops products and
deals with storage and distribution.

Bereits mit Ende der 80iger Jahre begann
man mit der Erzeugung von Mehlen aus
österreichischem biologischen Getreide.
Heute werden in der 100%-igen Biomühle Weizen, Roggen, Dinkel, Durum sowie
Kamut aus biologischem Anbau vermahlen,
die Biovollkornprodukte seit November
2012 nach dem traditionellen und schonenden Steinmühlverfahren.
As early as the end of the 1980s, production commenced of flour from organic
Austrian cereals. Today the 100% organic
mill produces wheat, rye, spelt, durum and
Kamut flours from organic produce; since
November 2012 wholemeal products have
been milled using a traditional stone grinding technique.

producers in Styria decided to band together to market their goods. The Steirische
Berenobstgenossenschaft (STBOG) was
founded in 1962 and was one of Europe’s
main producers until 1986.

Around 40 organic, free-range farmers
produce eggs for the Toni´s organic freerange brand, committing to the speciesappropriate farming conditions, rigorous
testing and absolute hygiene standards
which are required. The chickens are only
fed pure vegetarian feed from Austria,
which is regularly checked to guarantee
that it is GM free.
The organic free-range eggs are sorted
directly on the farm and packaged by the
farmers. The farmers then lay their business card in each individual pack, ensuring
that the organic farmer
provides a personal guarantee for his own
product. To sign in your own name means
