The comfortable cabins (12 square meters) are equipped with two lower
beds whereof one can be folded against the wall during the day. The suites
(24 square meters) are provided with two separated beds and minibar. All
cabins are equipped with shower, toilet, television, central controlled aeration, telephone and hair-dryer. All cabins on the Rhine deck have large tiltable
panoramic windows. The two smaller windows on the Main deck are not
possible to open. 2-bed cabins can be partly used for triple-occupancy and
also can be interconnected (connecting door).

famous Opera House and the Parliament building.

Day 1: Passau - Embarkation
Boarding: 14.30 - Departure 16.00
Embarkation begins at 14.30 in Passau,
a city with a mix of Roman, Italian Baroque and
Gothic architecture. Here is the confluence of three
rivers - the Inn, Ilz and the Danube. Cast off at 16.00
for Krems in Austria. The captain and his crew welcome and invite you for a welcome cocktail before
dinner.
Danube, Buda lying on the hills and Pest the eastern, mostly flat part. Visit the Elisabeth Bridge, the
Heroes‘ Square with the Millennium Monument, the
Hungarian Parliament Building, the Chain Bridge,
go through the Buda Castle Quarter to the Matthias
Church and the Fisherman‘s Bastion.
A special experience is St. Stephen‘s Basilica with
the 96 metres dome. After lunch you can attend the
excursion „Danube Bend“. It‘s a curve of the
Danube close to the city of Visegrád.
The lush landscape and the charming town Szentendre are worth a visit.
Szentendre is a small baroque city at the gate of the
Danube Bend. Arrival in Esztergom at 18.30.
It is the Northern gate of Budapest and has the largest church in Hungary, the impressive Esztergom
Basilica, lying on a hill. In the meantime DCS Amethyst also arrived and sets sail for Bratislava.
Day 2: Krems

Disembark this morning for a guided tour in Krems.
The tour starts at the Benedictine monastery Göttweig. It stands on the eastern edge of the Danube
valley area and is positioned 442 meters above sea
level. Afterwards you‘ll be able to sample some of
the famous wines of the Wachau.

This morning, dock in Melk. After breakfast you can
attend the excursion Wachau. The first stop is the
picturesque Wachau Valley town of Dürnstein with
a guided walk. At the next stop you can enjoy a guided visit of Melk‘s 11th-century Benedictine Abbey.
Back on DCS Amethyst, cast off for Esztergom.
Day 3: Esztergom - Budapest

Wake up with a lovely view to Esztergom Basilica,
the biggest building in Hungary.
After breakfast the excursion „Danube Bend“ starts.
The tour takes you to the ruins in Visegrad over
to Szentendre and to Budapest (return to ship at
13.00). Why is it called Danube bend? Between
Esztergom and Szentendre the river turns sharply
south in the direction of Budapest. After lunch you
have the opportunity to explore the sights of Budapest. View the Heroes‘ Square with the Millenium
Monument, the Chain Bridge, the Matthias Church
and the Fisherman‘s Bastion. In the evening take
the chance for a guided excursion „Budapest by
night“. The tour takes you through the illuminated
Budapest and to the first strudel house. Taste the
strudel and also a glass of the famous „Tokaj“ wine.
At 23.00 the ship sets sail for Mohács.
4. Tag: Mohács

This morning you can visit one of Hungary‘s top
wine regions. Villány is known for its reds and ro-

sés which are of the highest quality. Taste a glass of
the fullbodied and spicy wine in the cellar with fresh
baked bread.
Day 5: Iron Gate
Today you will see a special highlight of this cruise,
the Iron Gate. It‘s a gorge and forms part of the
boundary between Serbia and Romania. In the
broad sense it encompasses a route of 134 km (83
mi). Enjoy scenic sailing this afternoon as the ship
continues on to Belgrade.
Day 8: Bratislava
Arrival: 16.30 - Departure 23.59
Arrival in Bratislava at 16.30. There you can visit a
lot of beautiful attractions like the Bratislava Castle
during a guided city tour. Also stay a little moment at
the viewing point and enjoy the amazing panoramic
view. At the Old Town you see the Michael‘s Gate,
the Primate‘s Palace and the St. Martin‘s Cathedral.
The DCS Amethyst leaves Bratislava at 23.59 and
continues to Vienna.
Day 9: Vienna
Arrival: 08.00 - Departure 23.00
Explore in the morning the Imperial and Royal city
with a lot of sights. See the baroque Karlskirche (St.
Charle‘s church), Hofburg Palace, the Ringstraße
(Ring Road) with its magnificent buildings like the
Vienna State Opera, the monument of Maria Theresia, the Burgtheater, the Rathaus (Town Hall), St.
Stephens‘s Cathedral and the Austrian Parliament
Building. After lunch you can attend the excursion
Burgenland with first stop at Eisenstadt and the
Melk Abbey Haydnmuseum and last stop at Palace Esterháza.

14.30 on the MS Alemannia. The ship sets sail at
16.00 for Volendam in Netherlands. The captain

Day 2: Koblenz - Winningen

Moor up this morning for a guided tour in Koblenz.
The tour starts with a walk through the residence city
at the „German Corner“ (Deutsches Eck), one of the
oldest cities in Germany, passing the city hall with
the „Schängelbrunnen“ and other interesting points.
Afterwards you cross the Rhine by a cable car and
by an inclined lift to the foot of the hill of Ehrenbreitstein Fortress. The peak of the hill is 118 metres
above the Rhine. Enjoy a breathtaking panoramic
view over Koblenz. In the afternoon you have the
possibility to attend a panoramic trip to Vulkaneifel.
First stop will be the Laach Lake (Laacher See).
It is a volcanic caldera lake with a diameter of 2 km.
On the western side lies the Benedictine monastery
of Maria Laach Abbey, founded in 1093 by Henry
II of Laach. It‘s a masterpiece of German Romanesque architecture with its six towers, the Abbey
gardens and a lot of monuments and memorials.
Subsequently you have free time to discover or to
take a walk.

Good morning from the charmin Cochem on the
Mosel. Majestically enthroned the Reichsburg Cochem on top of the hill. In the morning you can visit
one of the most beautiful medieval castles - the Eltz
Castle above the Moselle River. It‘s situated on a 70
metres rock spur and from the 12th century. It‘s also
one of three castles on the left bank of the Rhine
which have never been destroyed. Worth to see is
the knight‘s hall, the castle chambers, the numerous
original paintings and the treasury with gold, silver
and porcelain artifacts, the armory of weapons and
suits of armor. The MS Alemannia leaves Cochem
at 13.00 and continues for Braubach. You can explore this municipality on your own in the evening.
Day 5: Rüdesheim - Mainz

Today you will see the capital of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate. After breakfast you can experience
the picturesque Old Town during a city tour, which
still remind of the medieval and early modern cityscape, with its twisty alleyways, timbered houses and
baroque aristocratic houses. Also worth a view is
the St. Stephen‘s Church with the Marc Chagall windows in luminous, the massive St. Martin‘s Cathedral as well as many of important places, monuments
and interesting museums such as the Gutenberg
Museum. In the afternoon you are going to a trip
to the biggest vineyard area in germany with over
25.516 ha, called Rheinhessen. Take a walk with
your guide through the vineyards of Mainz. Learn
a lot of interesting facts directly from the vintner, try
wine by the „Mainzer Winzervesper“ and enjoy an
awesome view over Rheinhessen. Back on your
floating hotel you have time to get ready for your
farewell evening: a fantastic gala dinner with „Ice
Parade á la MS Alemannia“. Cast off at 21.00.
Day 4: Braubach - Lorelei - Rüdesheim
