Im Januar 2014 fahren wir wieder für
zwe i Wochen nach Laos – das Land im
Herzen Indochinas ist ein bisher unentdecktes Motorrad- und Offroad -Paradies.
Die Route "Ho Chi Minh" führt übe r kaum ge nutzte A sphaltstreck en, leichte
Enduro-Strecken und abgelegene Single Trails durch faszinierende Wälder und die
Heimat de r Lao Loum Tribe s (Tief land -Laote n) rund 800 Kilome ter e ntlang de r
loatisch-vietnamesischen G renze.
De r Ho Chi Minh-Pfad ist e in weit ve rzwe igte s Netz aus Pisten und ve rstre ckten
Track s, das den Nordv ietnamesen in d er Kriegen gegen die Franzosen und USAmerikaner als Verbindungs- und Versorgungslinie ihrer Soldaten im Süden
gedient hat.
teNach jahrelanger heftiger B omb ardierung und dem Rück zug der A merikaner ist
der "Ho Chi Minh"-Pfad - benannt nach dem ehemaligen Premier und Präsident der
De mok ratische n Rep ublik V ietnam - wieder in eine n absoluten Tiefschlaf
verfallen.
Wir fahre n also e ine Route von Pak se im Süden bis nach Luang Prabang im
laotischen Hochland, die eng mit de r we chse lhafte n Ge schichte de s Land es
verbunden ist.
Zusammen mit unserem Partner von Green Discovery in Vientiane, die auch den
lokalen Biker Thongkhoon als Guide und Übersetzer stellen, haben wir eine Route
ausgearbeitet, die f ür Teilnehmer mit etwas Offroad-Erfahrung leicht zu
bewältigen ist.

Day 1: Arrival at Pakse
Arriving in Pakse, transfer to hotel, checking bikes and rest day.

Date 21. January 2014
Day 2: Pak se – Phalay Bok – Attapeu (171 Km)
We follow Road No. 13 for about 45 Km southwards and then turn left, using a
dirt road through the Xe Pian National Park (NPA) to Attapeu province where we
arrive in the late afternoon.

Date 22. January 2014
Day 3: Attapeu – Paam – S ieng long – Sekong – Thate ng – Tadlor (213Km)
Tod ay we ride on Ho Chi Minh trail, it’s very hilly , rocky and some part is und er
construction. Arrival Sekong around afternoon, after take rest and then continue
journey on road to Say se guesthouse f or stay overnight and enjoy swimming in
Tadlord waterfall.

Day 4: Tadlor - S alavan - Khammouan
We travel north east af ter S alavan, in directions Taleo, Pachou, Ta Oi to the
Patong / Hap area on sin gel trails and stay in the
Khammouan province.

Date 24. January 2014
Day 5: Khammouan p rov ince - Sep on - X ayb uathong
From the village we ride the following day v ia Nong, Lalong on to Sepon,
Velabury to Xaybuathong.

Date 25. January 2014
Day 6: Xaybuathong - G reen Climb ers Home We make some little de tours around
Xaybuathong and travel on to Green Discovery Climbers Home. Arriving there
early afternoon, we are going to have a basic climbing lesson in the afternoon.

Day 7: Gree n Climbers Home - Mahaxay - N akhai - Km 20 (178Km)
Leav ing late, anothe r day of rid ing on Ho Chi Minh trail, in morning rid ing on
dusty road but beautiful landscapes, villages and bamboo bridge will be crossed

Lunch will be served at local re staurant ne ar N am The rn Lake . Afte r
lunch we ride on small dirt road to KM 20 and arrival before sunset.

Date 27. January 2014
Day 8: Km 20 –Vie ngthong – Thasi – Maung Home (244 Km)
In the morning, we ride through N am Ka Ding NPA on a dusty road, and in the
afternoon continue on dirt road to Muang Home, where we will stay overnight.

Date 28. January 2014
Day 9: Mouang Home - Say somb oun - Thavieng - Phonsavanh (201 Km)
Tod ay we ride on dirt road to Thav ieng v illage on the way stop at S aysomeboun
villag e for have some cold d rink before rid ing to Thav ieng for lunch. Af ter lunch
continue riding on tarmac road to Muang Khoun district for last 35 Km to
Phonsav anh we will rid e on single trail visit plan of jars site: 3 and come up
small trail to site: 2 then continue ride to Phonsavanh and arrival before sunset.

Date 29. January 2014
Day 10: Phonsavanh – V iengthong (135 Km)
Highlights are the beautiful landscape, villagers’ life, and crossing the Nam Phao
River on a bamboo raft. Picnic lunch at river. After lunch continue riding on a
small rocky road with many curves to Viengthong village.
Stay: Souksakhone guesthouse
Date 30. January 2014
Day 11: Vieng thong – Luang Prabang ( 200 Km) Today we ride along road N o. 1
which was built during the last Indochina war. We enjoy with villages, kid ’s hand
waving on the road and limestone.
At Sam Soun we take a turn left
and travel offroad to Luang Prabang via Phou
Sanam, Pak Xang , Hat S am and Pak Keng to LPQ

Day 12: Luang Prab ang
Full re st day in LPQ, individ ual p rog ram, e lephants,
rivercruise, visit temples during day.
