Bicycle and train.

Bicycle and train.
Well under way by bike and train.
A practical combination.
Travelling with your own bike.
Perfect journey planning.
The various combination options of bike and train offer many advantages in the daily
routine and for leisure time. We have put together the latest new features, tips and
tricks for you to benefit from. We wish you a good journey and a great deal of fun.
The map shows most of the rail, bus
and boat routes that allow you to take
your bike with you as long as you have
a valid bike ticket. If your bike can be
folded away into a carry case, you can
usually take it as hand luggage on most
services.
Bicycle and train.
The most important new features.
• 2013 sees the start of an extension programme over several years for bicycle parking.
We are building or converting more than 2000 spaces each year.
• T he Velopass bike-sharing network is being integrated into the PubliBike network.
• T he daily rental prices for renting bikes at the station will be adapted.
• You can now purchase ten different rental bike tours online at sbb.ch/en/leisure-shop.
Important tips for self-service loading of bicycles.
• On days that are popular for trips, space may be limited in trains.
• Please take note of the predicted occupancy rate on the online timetable when selecting
your travel route and travel times.
• Use Rent a Bike at the station or bicycle shipping as an alternative to self-service loading
of bicycles.
On traditional family days out with good
weather prospects, increased passenger
volumes can be expected between 7
a.m. and 9 a.m. on trains to Ticino, Valais,
the Bernese Oberland, Seeland, Jura,
Graubünden and Lake Constance. At such
times the trains will be carrying more bikes,
prams, luggage and leisure equipment and
space may be limited.
