Michael Friedman, “Graduado Pedal”
is offering CPR/Defibrillator training
at ABADÁ. EFR Primary Care (CPR),
Secondary Care (1st-aid) and AED
for Adults, Children and Infants course
teaches participants how to respond
to life-threatening emergencies through
a combination of knowledge development, skill development and realistic
scenario practice.
Fee includes materials, instruction, and
certificate. Space is limited - register
by July 1st at the front desk or email

Kids’ Summer Camp - Enroll Now!
Capoeira Summer Camp for children aged 6 – 12, all levels
welcome. Camp is lead by ACSF students Cigano and Cravo.

Camp meets Mon.-Thu. 9am - 3pm and Fri. 9am - 4:30pm.

Berimbau Workshop
Saturday, June 30th, 1:30 - 3:00. $15 fee
If you are looking to brush up on your berimbau skills, or if
you just want to learn to play, make sure to register now and
reserve your spot for the upcoming Berimbau workshop led
by Mestranda Márcia. Pre-registration required by June 23rd.
When you register, please let the front desk know if you are
going to need a berimbau or if you are bringing your own.
If you are interested in purchasing a berimbau from ACSF,
please check with the front desk.
Adult/Kids’ Privates
Private sessions are now available for
both adults AND kids.

movements, and strengthen your body

ADULT PRICES: $75/hr with Mestranda

Stern Grove Festival
Mestranda Márcia and Instrutora Sereia were guests at
ABADÁ-Capoeira México City’s Workshops and Batizado
held from May 17th-20th, This was Márcia’s fourth trip
(Sereia’s first) and they were greeted with a warm welcome
and made to feel at home. Mestranda Márcia and Instrutora
Sereia started out by teaching two days of workshops to the
young group of over 250 people. Guests Instrutores Furacão
from New York, Alma de Gato from Chiuaua, Coco from
Guadalajara assisted with the workshops and Batizado. The
students adored Márcia, and it wasn’t long before she was
signing autographs and posing for pictures for capoeiristas.
Encompassing students from all over México City, including
students of Graduados Bonquito; Grillo; Tubarão; Furão; Urso
Polar; Maçã and Bôde, over180 students and 40 kids were
involved in the Batizado event.

ABADÁ-CAPOEIRA INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL
AUGUST 21st - 26th, 2007
This years kids’ Batizado was a success! Thanks to all 42
participants, their families and ACSF students for helping out.
Special thanks to Graduados Tamarindo, Pedal, Canela, and
students Covinha, Cigano and Cravo. The Kids’ last class
Family Fest Park day was great fun thanks to the enthusiastic
kids and their families, ABADÁ’s teens and adult helpers.
We hope to do it again next year!
Jogos, worshops and lectures with Mestre
Camisa, the founder of ABADÁ Capoeira, and
all the Mestres and Mestrandos of ABADÁ in
Salvador, Bahia. Possible course with Mestre
Camisa at the CEMB in Rio after the week
events in Bahia. Also, come and cheer on jogos
competitors Instrutora Sereia, graduados
Estrela Vesper, Trovoada, and other graduados
who wish to participate in the pineirão, and see
Instrutora Sereia get her purple/brown cord!

Paris Workshops and Batizado
Mestranda Márcia traveled to ABADÁ-Capoeira Paris from
June 7-10 for the workshops and Batizado for students of
Instrutor Nô. It was Márcia’s first trip to Paris and she was
very well received and happy with the 150 participants’ level
and dedication. Also helping the event and classes, Instrutor
Sarna and Graduado Tarubí from France. Very solid group
with a lot of graduados and they put up a great event.
