Dear BCCG members and friends of Scotland,
A Burns Supper is a traditional evening celebrating the life, works and spirit of the great
Scottish poet Robert Burns (1759 – 1796). Burns Suppers have been in existence for over 200
years, and there are probably more taking place now than at any time in their history. The
Rhine-Main region is pleased to celebrate the famous Scottish bard's birthday once again in
Frankfurt. We would be delighted if you could join us.

addition to our long-standing sponsors, RBS and Scottish Development International. We are
also proud to have the endorsement of the British Honorary Consulate in Frankfurt for the first
time. We are particularly grateful to RBS for making it possible for Clark McGinn, the worldrenowned expert on Robert Burns, to take part again this year.
For a contribution of € 50 per person for BCCG members and € 60 per person for nonmembers we will provide you with a three-course supper including soup, haggis and dessert,
as well as plenty of Scotch whisky. You can also expect bagpipes, Scottish dancing and
recitations of well-loved Burns poems to keep you entertained.
We would ask that the laddies (gentlemen) appear in formal evening dress (Black Tie /
Smoking), traditional Scottish national dress, or a dark suit. Lassies (ladies) should wear an
evening gown or cocktail dress. Please ensure that your shoes are appropriate for dancing in.
