Ohio, waters and shorelines of the Ohio River above and
below McAlpine Dam, as well as islands in the immediate
vicinity including Goose, Sand and Shippingport islands.
This checklist follows the arrangement and Nomenclature of
the American Ornithologists' Union Check-list, 7th ed. (1998)
and subsequent supplements. Thanks is extended to members of the Beckham Bird Club for assisting in compilation.

S = summer (June-July); F = fall (Aug-Nov)
Abundance: - = not recorded; o = occasional; r = rare, or not to be
expected, but sometimes observed; u = uncommon, or often present,
but can be hard to find; f = fairly common, or usually present, and
observed most of the time; c = common, or usually numerous and
should be observed. An asterisk (*) after the species names indicates
breeding has been confirmed within the Falls of the Ohio area.
