DE 1198 171 25, StNr. 5112/5710/0012, Vorsitzender des Aufsichtsrates: Thomas Eichelmann; Vorstand: Marcelino Fernández Verdes (Vorsitzender), Peter Sassenfeld Date: 30 September 2013 $370 Million Melbourne Airport win for Leighton Contractors Leighton Contractors Pty Ltd has secured a $370 million contract for the construction of an integrated transport facility and a new airline terminal for Australian Pacific Airports (Melbourne) Pty Ltd (Melbourne Airport), as part of a capacity upgrade for Melbourne Airport. Leighton Contractors’ delivery of the transport facility includes construction of a seven storey car park, elevated access roads and ramps, an underground service tunnel, electrical substation and ancillary infrastructure. Leighton Contractors will deliver the new Terminal 4 in a Joint Venture with its subsidiary Broad Construction. The works include baggage handling and re-claim facilities, check-in kiosks and associated infrastructure, staff amenities, retail areas and connections to existing concourses. Leighton Holdings Chief Executive Officer, Hamish Tyrwhitt, said: “We are pleased to be part of Melbourne Airport’s upgrade. This award demonstrates the Leighton Group’s strength in the civil infrastructure and commercial building markets, and the ability of our companies to collaborate, leveraging their scale and range of core competencies to deliver innovative solutions and value for clients.” Leighton Contractors Managing Director, Craig Laslett, said: “We are proud to play a key part in the upgrade, supporting the airport’s growing role as an important transport hub in Australia. We look forward to working with Melbourne Airport to deliver a world class terminal that enhances our client’s operations and their customers’ experience. “The award recognises our expertise in safely delivering complex and large scale infrastructure projects within operating facilities and Broad’s successful delivery of upgrade works at Perth Airport including the new Terminal 2 earlier this year.” Works are scheduled to commence in October with completion due in 2015.
