Information for students who wish to begin their studies in an advanced
semester (bachelor, diploma, state examination)
It’s possible to begin your studies at the Universität Leipzig in an advanced semester if certain
stipulations are met. The first step is to transfer all previously earned university credits to the
Universität Leipzig. Please be aware that the procedure for doing this varies:
If you’ve already studied at a German university:
You must include an official Anrechnungsbescheid (credits form) filled in by the appropriate
examination committee in your admissions application to the Universität Leipzig. For an

If you’ve been accepted to a study programme in Medicine, Dentistry or Pharmacy, or you’re
already registered for one of said programmes, then your Anrechnungsbescheid must be filled
in by the Landesämter für Medizin und Pharmazie (Examination Offices for Medicine and
Pharmacy) in the German Bundesland in which you’re living.
If you’ve already studied at a university outside of Germany:
You can only apply for admittance to an advanced semester if you can provide proof of
transferrable credits earned abroad. You must include an official Anrechnungsbescheid (credits
form) from the appropriate examination committee in your application for admission to the
Universität Leipzig. For an overview of all examination committees at the university, please

If you already possess credits earned abroad in the study programmes Medicine, Pharmacy,
Dentistry or Law, then please send a signed, written, informal application containing certified
translations of school transcripts to the following addresses:
