Since leaving the Welsh College of Music and Drama in 1990 he has worked consistently as an actor in stage and film in both Europe and the UK, as a workshop leader and deviser, and more recently as a director. In 1997 he founded The Scallabouche and since then has created 9 original pieces of theatre, mainly through devising but also through adaptation. The company has been invited to perform their work as far and wide as Moscow to Belfast and have developed a reputation for live, in-the-moment-theatre that feeds off the principles of improvisation mixed with Hungarian absurdism and creates an ambiguous action, which draws as much on the imagination of the audience as the performers. Workshops have always been an integral part of Alexis’s work and he has devised and run workshops for young offenders, students, health workers and business professionals. In 1998 he was invited to set up the communication skills training department at Dramatrix Corporate Training, where he successfully blended improvisation theatre games into communication training modules and ran the department until March 2008 when he left to concentrate entirely on the Scallabouche and Impact Training. Other Experience Wine producing (has a small vineyard). Speaks Hungarian, some French.
