The fourth record on the Polynom label will be
released on the third anniversary of the Weimarbased label. This publication was a production of
our new artists JAMY WING. With releases on
Sonido, OFF & IXI, and licensing on the Time Warp
Compilation & Cecille he already gathered attention
here and now he presents his “Back” EP on
Polynom.
Im Rahmen der vierten Vinylauskopplung auf
Polynom, kommt nun pünktlich zum dreijährigen
Label-Bestehen unser Neuzugang JAMY WING zum
Zuge. Mit Veröffentlichungen auf Sonido, OFF & IXI,
sowie Lizensierungen auf der Time Warp Compilation
& Cecille machte er bereits auf sich aufmerksam und
präsentiert hier seine Back EP.
Three pieces which were produced in the years
2006 and 2007 are on this record. Now these as of
yet unpublished works show that novelty is not
always the only interesting thing.
Here similar to the storage of a wine, which
thereby receives it's mostly own flavour, one can
look forward to delicate, timeless and functional
Tech-House.
On the a-side one finds the pieces "Alimaj" and
"Jamila" which easily provide the drive me upmode for elegant dancefloor-dynamic. In the
middle of the tracks are some pushing parts of
good old Akufen-freakness in an naturally JAMY
WING style. Straight ahead it further goes on the
b-side with the track "Jazz Time". Here it keeps
damn pleasantly funky with a little side of well
proportioned playfulness. The piece receives a
touch of soul from its gloomily seeming bassline
and provides the background of the piano part
which winks extraordinarily.
The spring can come, we start with “Back”.
Auf dieser befinden sich drei Stücke, welche aus den
Jahren 2006 und 2007 stammen.
Diese bisher unveröffentlichten Werke machen klar,
dass nicht immer die Neuheit interessant ist.
Vergleichbar mit der Lagerung eines Weins, der
dadurch meist eine eigene Note erhält, kann man
sich hier auf delikaten, zeitlosen und funktionalen
Tech-House freuen.
Auf der A-Seite stößt man auf die Stücke „Alimaj“
und „Jamila“, welche im Drive Me Up-Modus locker
fluffig für elegante Dancefloor-Dynamik sorgen und
zwischendrin Platz machen für ein bisschen AkufenFrickel-Charme, aber selbstverständlich im JAMY
WING-Style. Straight a head geht es weiter auf der
B-Seite mit dem Track „Jazztime“. Hier bleibt es
verdammt sympathisch funky mit einem Quäntchen
wohlportionierter Verspieltheit. Durch die düster
anmutende Bassline erhält das Stück einen Touch
Soul und untermalt die Pianoparts zwinkert
extraordinär.
Der Frühling kann also kommen, wir starten durch
mit „Back“.
