Whether it be metal sheet forming technology, deep drawing, cold solid forming,
stamping and bending technology – CVD coatings offer extensive protection.
What’s more, excellent levels of adhesion and simultaneous extreme hardness
are the qualities that give tools a heavy-duty rating. And due to the chemical process, it is also possible to reproducibly coat bores and undercuts.
CVD technology has long since become an indispensable standard for industrial
applications. High-alloyed tool steels, HSS and PM materials, along with cemented carbides, are coated. However, eifeler not only offers a broad spectrum
of CVD coatings but also provides detailed advice to companies on how to select just the right material.

In addition to PVD and CVD coatings, work
pieces at eifeler can be vacuum hardened,
plasma nitrided, or plasma oxidised in state-­
of-the-art systems. However service at eifeler
doesn’t only begin with coatings.

Perfekte Oberfläche bei jeder Geometrie
Eine glatte, tragende Oberfläche bietet beste Voraussetzung für eine optimale
Beschichtung. Hier kann eine Politur wahre Wunder bewirken. Doch Politur ist
nicht gleich Politur – für ein erstklassiges Ergebnis braucht der Handwerker
­Wissen, Erfahrung und jede Menge Fingerspitzengefühl.
Die Perfektion, mit der man bei eifeler poliert, ist ebenso berühmt wie gefragt.
Deshalb besitzen heute alle inländischen eifeler Unternehmen eigene Polier­
abteilungen. Hier herrscht noch echte Handarbeit – schließlich muss die Ober­
fläche nicht nur glänzen, sondern auch hundertprozentig intakt sein. Und schon
allein wegen der vielen verschiedenen Geometrien bleibt ein erfahrener Polierer
unverzichtbar.

Here polishing can achieve amazing outcomes. Yet all polishes are not created
equal – for first-rate results, the craftsman requires knowledge, experience and
a good deal of sensitivity.
The perfection with which polishing is performed at eifeler is as renowned as it
is in high demand. That is why all eifeler companies in Germany today have their
own polishing departments. This is where you will still find genuine hand craftsmanship – after all, the surface must not only shine but also be 100 percent
­intact. And due to the many geometries involved, an experienced polisher is

Laser hardening
Beim Laserhärten wirkt die hohe Temperatur
des Laserstrahls genau dort, wo harte Oberflächen benötigt werden. Dagegen entsteht für
andere Bereiche des Bauteils kaum eine thermische ­Belastung, so dass es in der Regel
nicht zum Verzug kommt. Gerade bei Großwerkzeugen aus der Umformtechnik ist dies ein
sehr kostengünstiges und extrem schnelles
Verfahren zur Randschichthärtung.
During laser hardening, the high temperature
of the laser beam is applied exactly where hard
surfaces are needed. Other areas of the work
piece are subjected to hardly any thermal
stress, so that there is generally no deformation. Especially for large tools from forming
machinery, this is a very economical and extremely rapid process for boundary layer hardening.
