when he sets out on a club-compatible séance.
Death Disco on a Ouija board – the band’s relentlessly aggressive return to form sees them
fusing memorable melodies with killer sounds
and tons of bass. “I believe what has always
separated God Module from the many other
EBM-Electronic bands is that our songs are
catchy and based on melody along with the
aggression. They are meant to be catchy and
to stay in your head”, Jasyn explains. His fascination with the supernatural stems from a
profound doubt in all things spiritual: “I really
want to believe in the supernatural and do in
the sense that I believe there are aspects of life
that are beyond normal. I am not a very spiritual person and have no clue what happens to
us after we die. I sometimes envy those who
do have ‘faith’. It has to make life much easier
believing that there is something after this life.
This is why I am so interested in the paranormal
and the supernatural. If I were to one day see a
ghost it would be a religious experience to me.”
So, no Ouija-board-Séances during the creation
of this album? Jasyn laughs: “There have been
many times in my youth when we would play
with a Ouija board. Sadly I think the only time
we ever got any answers back was when one
my friends were drunk and moved the planchette themselves”, and adds: “As
always with my lyrics, I recommend that you never take them
at face value. Nothing is always
as it seems to be. I use horrific
and dark subject matters as
metaphors to express and work
through very personal things.”
“Séance” has been released as
a deluxe 2CD-Digipak including
the “Rituals”-EP (only available
as a separate release overseas.)

Club-taugliche Séance ausruft. Death Disco auf
dem Ouija-Brett – die Amerikaner kehren auf ihrem neuen Kracher zur Hochform ihrer Klassiker
zurück und fusionieren eingängige Melodien mit
Mörder-Klängen und satten Bässen. „Ich denke,
was God Module immer von vielen anderen EBMElektronik-Bands abgesetzt hat, ist, dass unsere
Songs absichtlich eingängig und melodiös inmitten
der Aggression angelegt sind. Wir wollen, dass die
Stücke hängenbleiben“, erklärt Jasyn. Seine Faszination mit dem Übernatürlichen rührt zu einem
großen Teil daher, dass er spirituellen Dingen mit
einem gesunden Zweifel gegenübersteht: „Ich
möchte gerne an das Übernatürliche glauben und
bin mir bewusst, dass es Aspekte im Leben gibt,
die über die Vorstellungskraft hinausgehen. Ich
bin nicht sehr spirituell und habe keine Ahnung,
was mit uns passiert, wenn wir sterben. Ich beneide daher gläubige Menschen ein wenig, da es für
sie viel einfacher ist, wenn sie an eine Weiterexistenz nach dem Tod glauben. Deswegen fasziniert
mich das Paranormale und Übernatürliche so sehr.
Wenn ich jemals einen Geist sehen sollte, wäre
das wie eine religiöse Offenbarung.“ Also keine
Séancen, die zur Entstehung des Albums geführt
haben? Jasyn lacht: „Als ich jung war, habe ich
mit Freunden aus Spaß Séancen abgehalten, aber
ich glaube der Zeiger hat sich nur bewegt, wenn
einer von uns betrunken war und
daran gespielt hat“, und fügt hinzu: „Man sollte meine Texte nie
wörtlich nehmen. Ich setze meistens persönliche Dinge und Ängste in Horror-Themen verpackt
um.“ „Séance“ ist als deluxe 2
