This mounting instruction shows you the best way for an exclusive installation for the double-DIN
device, good luck !!!
Try to find a good ddin harness adapter which supports multifunction buttons for the steering wheel,
the error sounds for the gongs (seat belt, handbrake) and also dsc front+back sound.

Bitte ein gutes Doppel-DIN Adapterkabel besorgen, das ebenfalls die Gongs für Sicherheitsgurt,
Handbremse und DSC, falls vorhanden, bereitstellt. Simple Adapter liefern diese Signale nicht. Sie
benötigen einen CAN 2 Adapter neuster Generation

1: demount the front panel with a check-card, its just pined, also the upper interior bezel
Turn off the radio and pull it out
1. Als erstes seitlich mit Check-Karten die Frontblende entnehmen, diese ist nur geclipst,
ebenfalls die obere Zierblende mit einem Holzspatel oder Kunststoffbügel entnehmen

2: cut out the radio holder like red line. The upper is for the double-din, the lines below are for the climate
control. You can use a dremel, also a Fein multimaster with oscilating cutters work well
Schneiden sie den Mittelträger gemäß den roten Linien aus, der obere Teil ist für das Doppel-Din, der untere für
das Klimabedienteil. Benutzen Sie einen Dremel oder Schneiden mit oszilierenden Klingen (zB Fein
Multimaster) sind ebenfalls sehr geeignet.

3. Pull off the metal connectors and place-in the rubber grommets
Entnehmen sie die unteren Metallspangen und setzen sie die Gummis ein

4: drill 2 holes with a 2mm driller and fix the side covers with 2 x 2,9mm screws
Best is you place in the bezel for correct position
Die untere Halterung für die Seitenverkleidung der Mittelkonsole entsprechend kürzen, die Blende
für korrekten Sitz (Spaltmaße) einsetzen und markieren (rote Linie). 2 Löcher (2mm) bohren mit
Blechschrauben 2,9 x 13 mm fixieren

5. Place-in the double-din holder and prove that it sits correctly on the ground (red arrow). Make a
line with 1-2 mm distance to the holder and cut the overlaying plastic with a dremel (next pic). Be
very careful in that part, don’t hurt the outer plastic. There´s still enough material left to remount the
old climate control again, if you want to remove the whole install
Setzen sie den Metallkäfig ein und drücken sie diesen passend auf den Grund. Markieren sie das
überstehende Plastik mit einem Edding in 1-2mm Abstand zum Metallhalter (rote Linie) und trennen
sie das überstehende Plastik ab (Dremel). Bitte sehr vorrichtig in diesem Teil arbeiten um nicht die
angrenzende Plastikoberfläche zu verletzen. Es verbleibt immer noch genug Material, um das
Klimabedienteil an den alten Platz bei evtl. Rückbau anzubringen. Trennung siehe nächstes Bild

6. drill 4 holes for the with 2,5 mm driller and screw them down
4 Löcher für den Gerätehalter mit 2,5mm Bohrer bohren
Again!!!!!:(Green Arrow, grüner Pfeil)
Please place the metal to the plastic ground, otherwise the whole ddin will no sit correctly
Unbedingt beachten:
Den Metalkäfig an dieser Stelle bis zum Plastikgrund anschlagen, anschließend bohren,
ansonsten wird das DDIN Gerät später nicht richtig sitzen

7. put the cable in the gap, das Kabel in den Spalt drücken

8. does the length of the ddin exceed 17,5 cm total, use a hot air gun and press upper vent housing 510 mm
Falls das Gerät eine Länge von 17,5cm total übersteigt, am oberen Ende des Lüftungskanals mit einem
Heißluftfön den Kanal etwas drücken
9. Set up a dummy construction on the workbench
Put the upper grommets in the device-holder holes, put on the bezel and hold the bezel co-linear at middle line
with 0-1 mm distance (red line)(arrow)
Dummy-Konstruktion auf der Werkbank aufbauen. Die beiden Gummitüllen oben in den Gerätehalter
setzen, die Blende so anwinkeln, dass sie an der unteren Kante des Geräteausschnittes 0-1mm Abstand zum
Gerätehalter besitzt (rote Linie)

10: put in the double-din device now from the backside, center it, find a position, take care to the
corners
suggestion: let the buttom part of the ddin show out a little bit, then the main azimute angle is good
in the car
Screw it down and fix the device with supported M5 screws + big washers
Put off the bezel again and fix the holder + ddin in the car
Das DDin Gerät nun von hinten in die Dummy Konstruktion einschieben, dabei achten, dass
das Gerät an allen 4 Ecken sauber und gleichmäßig sitzt. Mit den großen Unterlegscheiben + M5
Schrauben fixieren

11: cut the plastic part of the control unit 4mm from the ground that the spring still works and
be used also in original position, don’t cut the upper spring holder
Die Seitenaufnahmen des Klimabedienteils kürzen ca. 4mm vom Grund, sodass die Feder
auch bei Rückbau noch funktioniert. Bitte nicht den oberen Federhalter entfernen

12: fix the climate control with plates and sealing wit 2,9 x 13 mm screws
Test all buttons frontside for correct work
Das Klimabedienteil fixieren und Montageband unterlegen, mit 2,9 x 13mm schrauben anziehen,
Vorderseitig die Tasten auf Funktion testen

13. Open the cable and the grey tycon connector, just use a small screw flat driver at both
sides and decal .Attention ! Remember red cable pin1 and left side connector side1
Use now our longer cable and connect also the red lined cable with the tycoon connector
again, use a hair dryer first and warm up the cable, then use a flat long gripper and press slowly
Das vorhandene Funktionsleistenkabel mit dem grauen Tycon Stecker öffnen, dabei seitlich mit
einem kleinen Schraubenzieher aufhebeln. Achtung! Seiten beachten, das neue längere Kabel
einsetzen, dass PIN 1 nach links zeigt, mit einem Fön kurz das Kabel aufwärmen und mit einer
Wasserpumpenzange zusammenpressen
14. Open the multifunction button bar with Torx TX8, connect the cable and close again
Die Multifunktionsleiste nun mit einem Torx TX8 öffnen, das lange Kabel anschließen

15. Open Middle part and descrew the ashtray, better use now new tray BMW-Part Number
51167132 376 and save the old for return
Die Mittelkonsole öffnen und den Aschenbecher entfernen oder neue Sunglass-Box verwenden

16. Cut e the middle part like red
line 3 and 20 mm from buttom, cut it out with a dremel or sharp knife
Mit einem scharfen Messer oder Dremel gemäß roter Linie horizontal 5 und 20 mm
ausschneiden

Den Rahmenhalter des Aschenbechers wie rechts ausschneiden
18. use double-sided sealing and glue in the multi button bar
Die Funktionsleiste nun mit doppelseitigem Montageband aufkleben

18. ashtray or sunglass box from buttom side use double sealed pads or hot glue for fixing
Aschenbecher oder Sunglass-Box von unten eingebaut. Mit doppelseitigen Klebenband (inhalt)
oder Heiskleber fixieren
19. alternatively you can use our sunglass box for glueing the function button bar at front
And you don’t have to destroy the asher
