Sekiguchi Komei Sensei was so kind to give a two week seminar in January for
Austria and Czech-Republic. In cooperation with Pawel Slawatycki we could organize
these two weeks and therefore an additional possibility for all students to gain
knowledge and to come into direct contact with o-sensei Sekiguchi Komei.
On Saturday the 6th of January, Sekiguchi Komei O-Sensei accompanied by Hidai
Kasumi arrived in Vienna. It was Hidai’s first visit in Austria and she was very
enthusiastic. Our guests from Japan finally arrived and the long awaited seminar
could take place. Of course we were very pleased to welcome Sekiguchi Sensei and
Hidai Sensei in our house. The rooms were ready and our guests could rest a bit
after having dinner together.
On Sunday, the 7th of January the first lesson started in Sieghartskirchen. It was fun,
and once more we catched the Iai-Jutsu-fever, as you can recognize on our faces of
the group photo.
Especially for Johannes Balas, he very much enjoyed to meet Sekiguchi Komei OSensei again.

After having lunch together, it was already time to say goodbye. Alexander
Wolfschütz drove with Sekiguchi Komei Sensei and Hidai Kasumi Sensei to the Czech
Republic. We had to work the whole week and could not join them. But as the end of
Friday came we rushed after them…
On Monday, the 15th of January we drove back to Austria with O-Sensei and Hidai
Kasumi. We all had no other plans than to relax the rest of day.
From the 16th to the 18th of January we could train at the Ratzersdorfer Lake near St.
Pölten (main capitol city of Lower Austria). The schedule for this part of the seminar
was fixed to daily lessons from 11:00h to 14:00h and from 15:00h to 19:00h. During
the lunch break we enjoyed the excellent service of e nearby restaurant. This did
offer the possibility to all students for asking questions to Sensei.

Due to the interest of local newspapers we could also organize photo shooting
sessions and several articles were issued in the following days.

On Friday 19th of January the third part of our seminar started with the transfer to
Marienkron. Marienkron is a famous health care hotel east of Vienna where we can
realize a similar intensive schedule as in Katsuura. The seminar did start with a lunch
for all participants. During these days a professional translation was available.
Therefore very interesting details regarding technique, art and philosophy were
discussed in detail. After daily lessons from 5:00am until 22:00pm we always met at
the tea bar for a final discussion, really the best place for good jokes!

People from different countries came together at this seminar, Japan, Swiss, Czech
Republic and Austria. The friendship between people who are willing to practice in a
serious way is something, which can change the atmosphere of the environment.
On saturedy we were invited to give a presentation of Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu IaiJutsu. But the star of this performance was Hidai San, she did show Japanese dance
and induced great adornment to the audience. Finally it was a great evening and
everybody did enjoy this day.

On the last evening the unbelievable did happen. A beautiful Japanese lady did try
the Kneipp procedure (walking in cold water). As you can see, it was not too bad!
Every participant receives a receipt for the successful attendance of the seminar.
This is a symbolic gesture at the end of every seminar. The documents are signed
and committed by Sekiguchi Komei O-Sensei.

After breakfast we went away, but there is always something left … at least a small
