More and more celebrities are wearing curly
hair again. So it will probably not be long
before "everybody" wants to have curls.
Immer mehr Berühmtheiten tragen wieder
gewellte Haare. Da ist es sicher von kurzer
Dauer, bis auch die grosse Masse diese
Haarform wieder tragen möchte.
Of course, doing a perm requires perfect
styling skills so that it looks genuine, natural
and custom made for each client.

Improved method for permanent and nonpermanent hair waving with visual
indication. (patented)

Difficulty of current procedure
Conversations with many international hairdressers
have confirmed that the most problematic step of
the hair waving process is the application of the
waving agent, because it often happens to the
hairdresser to loose track of the areas where the
waving agent has already been applied and where
not. This happens especially when a hairdresser
works by himself in his salon and is interrupted by
various tasks (customer appointments, showing
clients in, etc). This raises the risk of loosing oversight
of the areas already treated, which definitely is a
major risk factor for mistakes. This problem can now
be solved with the visual indication of the application areas.

The Solution
Typical hair waving formulas (alkaline, acid permanent waving solutions, straighteners, etc.) can be
modified with the addition of a small amount of a
thickening agent (ex. PVAL) and with a visual indicator (ex. pigments and/or water-soluble colorants).
Applied as a foam, the waving agent is visible for
several minutes (visual indication), which makes the
task of hair texture modification considerably easier.
This effect can be reinforced by using fluorescent
colorants in combination with an UV-light source
(may be integrated into Climazon).

Problem
In Gesprächen mit diversen internationalen Coiffeurmeistern wurde die Problematik des Auftragens der
Wellflüssigkeit bestätigt; oft werden einzelne Wickler
übersehen.
Bei allein arbeitenden Coiffeuren kommt es vor, dass
der Arbeitsablauf durch andere Verpflichtungen
(Terminvereinbarung, Kundenempfang, etc.) unterbrochen werden muss. Dabei steigt die Gefahr, die
Übersicht über die Auftragungsstelle zu verlieren
und Fehler sind vorprogrammiert. Dank der erhöhten Sicherheit durch die visuelle Indikation der
Auftragungsorte sind diese Problempunkte entschärft.
Versetzt gewickelt
Lösung
Typische Haarstrukturänderungs - Formulierungen
(alkalische Säure-, Dauerwellenlösungen, Streckmittel, etc.) werden durch einen geringen Anteil
geeigneter Verdickungsmittel (wie PVAL etc.) und ev.
durch einen visuellen Indikator (Pigment und oder
wasserlöslicher Farbstoff ) modifiziert. Durch Aufschäumen appliziert ist der Schaum für mehrere
Minuten sichtbar (visuelle Indikation) und erleichtert
so die Durchführung von Haarstrukturänderungen
entscheidend. Dieser Effekt kann zusätzlich durch die
Verwendung von fluoreszierenden Farbstoffen in
Kombination mit einer UV-Lichtquelle (z.B. eingebaut
in Climazon) verstärkt werden.

ABOUT ME
My name is Paolo Pace and I was born on the beautiful island of Sicily. Yet, my roots are not in Italy
but in Spain (my maternal grandmother) and in Malta (my paternal grandfather).
In 1968, I moved to Switzerland with my parents, where I went to school and then got my education
as a qualified Master Hairdresser.
I always loved my job from the start, but at one point I wanted more - I wanted a new challenge.
I discovered the world of international competition through former CIC and OAI, today currently
known as OMC.
That motivated me and gave a large additional interest to my job. The highlight of my training
experience was my winning of the World Champion title for Switzerland with the Men's Team 2006
in Moscow. The fact that my friend and colleague Enzo Di Giorgio won the World title in the same
Championship with the Ladies' Team made it the perfect event. For Switzerland it was the first time
that both teams were at the top.
In 1984, I opened my first salon. By now, I am working in my forth business, together with
Enzo Di Giorgio. We are both known as international Hairstylists and World Champions.
It has always been a challenge for me to search new ways how to make our work even better. The
visual permanent wave is the invention which allows me to give back some of the multitude I have
received, that will enable many hairstylists to do a better and more professional job. I have received
much positive feedback from many international hairstylists.
For my friend Erol Ünala (chemist) and me, the attribution of the Patent was a wonderful and
satisfactory moment, because it was the confirmation of our pioneer work.

Unter dem Namen Paolo Pace wurde ich auf der traumhaft schönen Insel Sizilien geboren. Meine
Wurzeln befinden sich aber nicht in Italien, sondern in Spanien (Grossmutter mütterlicherseits) und
Malta (Grossvater väterlicherseits).
1968 zog ich mit meinen Eltern in die Schweiz, besuchte dort zuerst die Schule und absolvierte
anschliessend meine Ausbildung zum Coiffeurmeister.
Ich liebe meinen Beruf seit ich ihn ausübe, doch genügte mir das nicht - ich wollte mehr. Ich
entdeckte die Welt der internationalen Wettbewerbe, früher CIC und OAI, heute allen unter dem
Begriff OMC bekannt.
Das hat mich motiviert und meinen Beruf wesentlich interessanter gestaltet. Der Höhepunkt
meiner Trainerlaufbahn war der Gewinn des Weltmeistertitels für die Schweiz mit dem Herrenteam
2006 in Moskau. Dass mein Freund und Kollege Enzo Di Giorgio gleichzeitig mit dem Damenteam
den Titel holte, machte diesen Anlass zum perfekten Ereignis. Für die Schweiz war es das erste Mal,
dass beide Teams zuoberst auf dem Podest standen.
1984 eröffnete ich mein erstes Geschaft. Mittlerweile arbeite ich zusammen mit Enzo Di Giorgio in
meinem vierten Salon. Man kennt uns beide als internationale Hair-Stylisten und Weltmeister.
Mich hat immer interessiert, wie man unsere Arbeit noch verbessern kann. Die visuelle Dauerwelle
ist die Erfindung, mit der ich einen Beitrag dazu leisten möchte, dass viele Coiffeure ihre Arbeit
besser und professioneller ausüben können. International habe ich dazu nur positive Feedbacks
erhalten.
Die Zuteilung des Patents war für mich und meinen Freund Erol Ünala (Chemiker) ein schöner und
befriedigender Moment, da sie unsere Pionierarbeit bestätigte.
