This year, the motto of this event will be “Building Bridges“. A bridge to Business: It is the mission of Austrian Universities of Applied Sciences to offer academic education that is geared towards specific lines of business. A bridge to the Public: Presenting research results in a way that is easily accessible for the public. Austria as a Bridge: Austria as a bridge between EastWest-North-South. A Bridge to the FH Community: Enhanced focus on network-building through interactive formats. More Information: http://www.fhvie.ac.at/Forschung/FH-Forschungsforum-2016 A Bridge within The Tertiary Education Sector: Acting as a bridge to other tertiary education institutions (universities etc.) The Research Forum of the Austrian Universities of Applied Sciences (FFH) is a platform for presenting the various research activities and results of Austrian Universities of Applied Sciences, which have developed a multi-faceted research landscape transcending disciplinary and geographical borders. Year after year, the FFH proves its abilities in applied research activities. Communicating with society, politics and business, we are looking forward to very interesting contributions by researchers, to fruitful discussions, and a worthwhile exchange of all participants in the FFH 2016. 1 Target Group The Research Forum offers representatives of Austrian Universities of Applied Sciences the opportunity to discuss their current R&D. R&D (F&E) cooperation partners are invited to present successful joint projects as well. The contributions are aimed at Austrian Universities of Applied Sciences, competence centers, and other non-university research institutions; decision-makers in politics, representatives of research promotion, business enterprises, and other business partners, and the general public. Panel Description Beim Thema „Translationale Gesundheitsforschung – Brücken bauen von Grundlagenwissenschaft zu angewandter Forschung“ geht es in diesem Panel darum, durch den kontinuierlichen Austausch zwischen Grundlagenforschung und angewandter Wissenschaft verbesserte Therapie- und Diagnoseverfahren schnell der Gesellschaft zugutekommen zu lassen, also um die Übertragen von Ergebnissen aus der Forschung auf die klinische Praxis. Somit wird auch die Lücke für wissenschaftliche PartnerInnen aus dem Bereich Grundlagen hin zu angewandter Forschung geschlossen. Eine erfolgreiche Translation der wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnisse ist ein entscheidender Faktor für die Fortschritte in Therapie und Behandlung der Bevölkerung. Dieses Panel versteht sich als gelebte Kooperation zwischen Theorie und Praxis, zwischen und innerhalb der Berufsgruppen (interprofessionell und interdisziplinär) und somit als förderlichen gesundheitsbringenden Faktor für die Gesundheitserhaltung bzw. Gesundheitsförderung. Exemplarische Subthemen: Grundlagenforschung angewandte Forschung anwendungsorientierte Forschung Theorie/Praxis Konflikt Transfer Theorie Praxis Evidence based Praxis (ebp) Interprofessionalität u. Interdisziplinarität Didactic Design of the Panel: Die Mitglieder des Panelteams werden die Moderation der Vorträge abwechselnd übernehmen. Die Vortragenden haben freie Wahl bei der Form der Präsentation ihrer Daten und Ergebnisse mit einer anschließenden offenen Diskussion. Am Ende des Panels findet eine Podiumsdiskussion mit allen Vortragenden statt, um einen breiten Austausch zu klinisch wie auch gesellschaftlich relevanten Aspekten, sowie zu kontroversen Fragen und Inhalten zu ermöglichen. Zudem sollen mögliche Übereinstimmungen aufgezeigt werden und möglichen neuen Kooperationen Raum gegeben werden. 2 Paper Submission We appreciate your interest in submitting a paper for this panel, and to support the programme of the FH-Research Forum 2016. In the following please find an overview of the formal criteria and the submission process in detail. Formal Criteria: Papers for the conference have to be research and development papers which are largely completed by the time of submission. There has to be a clear FH-reference. Contributions by young researchers and students are particularly welcome. Gender-neutral language needs to be maintained throughout the entire submission process. Late submissions cannot be considered. Thank you for understanding. Extended Abstract: This should contain 6,000 characters (incl. space characters, excl. literature references). The title of the paper should be kept generally clear. The format provided has to be used. In addition, we require short CVs of all authors, in text format, in a doc-file. Deadline: 30 November 2015 Full Paper: This should be 4-6 pages long. The format provided has to be used Deadline: 31 January 2016 Submission Process for Extended Abstracts: The abstracts have to submitted for reviewing as a doc-file, using the format provided, via the conference management system. 1) Download and Usage of Format: The abstract should only have 6,000 characters (incl. space characters, excl. literature references). The title of the paper should be kept generally clear. The format structure and all other format requirements have to be followed. 2) Registration in the conference management system 3) Submission of the Extended Abstract in the conference management system (Either: select “Save and start with the submission of a conference contribution“ at the end of the user registration. Or: select “Only create user account, submit conference contribution later“, and complete the submission later under item “Your submissions“.) Step 1: Complete the online form Step 2: Upload the documents consisting of (1) Extended Abstract (as a doc file using the format provided; file name: ”107_family name of submitter_title_Abstract“) (2) Brief CVs of all authors in text format (collected in one doc file, file name: “107_ family name of submitter_title _CVs“) (3) Signed copyright agreement (scanned PDF file, file name: eingescannt als PDF-Datei; Dateiname: “107_family name of submitter_title_WNB“) 3 Reviewing Process The abstracts will be reviewed and ranked by two referees. The ranking will be points. The referees will also provide a brief explanatory statement in addition to the points. Selection and topic clustering will be carried out by the panel chair and the co-chair, following criteria of scholarly quality and execution, relevance to theory and practice, degree of original and innovative approach. Diversity of topics will also be considered in the selection of papers. Accepted Papers Papers accepted after the reviewing process have to be supplied in a final version as a full paper of 4 to 6 pages in accordance with the format provided, and have to uploaded as a doc-file. The final paper has to be prepared camera-ready by the authors as a doc-file, and has to be uploaded on time. A format will be provided. Copyright agreement: Every paper has to be released for publication by the authors by providing a signed copyright agreement. The papers will be presented in the panel session of the conference, in accordance with the didactic concept of the panel. Innovative ways of presentation are welcome. Additional Information: - Awards for particularly good papers are being envisaged. More soon. The papers will be published in Conference Proceedings online und open access.
