There are virtually no parking spots. We recommend parking on the southern outskirts of town. Trail features This route is on paved backroads and farm tracks, with nearly no elevation gain (easy). Riding time is 2 hours. Route description The official trailhead is where the road from Kühtai runs into Ötztaler Bundesstrasse in Ötz. Proceed on Ötztalstrasse for a few hundred meters before turning left onto Achrainweg. Continue straight ahead to Ötztaler Ache, then ride upstream until you get to the first bridge. Cross Ötztaler Ache and follow the signposts to Sautens (about 15 minutes from Ötz). Proceed through the village on Dorfstrasse. Continue on the road’s extension on the western edge of the village to Sautener Forchet. This little forest, lined with hills and rocks, formed as a result of a massive rockfall from the opposed Tschirgant mountain. The road then leads downhill to Roppen. Continue down to the church past the first houses. Keep left and turn left onto the Inntal cycling trail. Follow the green signposts of the Inntal trail to Imst. Ride past the hamlets of Obbruck and Waldele and continue through fields and pastures into Imster Schlucht an to the ImstPitztal train station (1.5 hours from Sautens). From here it’s only 200 m to where Inntalradweg meets the trail called ‘Gurgltal Nr.5’. Follow this trail and after 15 minutes you will reach Imst.
