Der markante Büroturm Eco Berrini im Zentrum von São Paulo, Brasi-

lien, fällt in mehr als einer Hinsicht ins Auge: 2011 fertig gestellt, überragt er mit 132 m Gebäudehöhe seine Umgebung deutlich. Glänzende,
schwarz-weiße horizontale Bänder aus geschlossenen Brüstungs- und
verglasten Fensterelementen legen sich als Sonderkonstruktion um
die Geschosse. Besonders erwähnenswert sind dabei 185 automatisierte Parallel-Ausstellfenster Schüco AWS 102 mit den Abmessungen
2.500 mm x 700 mm. Die im Grundriss zweiseitig nach außen gewölbten Fassaden gewähren freien Blick auf die urbane Landschaft. Der
17 m hohe vollverglaste Eingangsbereich, Vor- und Rücksprünge sowie
Einschnitte im Gebäude und ein Dachgarten mit keilförmiger Überdachung gliedern das Volumen. Durch die geschwungene Form und die
detaillierte Ausarbeitung des Entwurfs aus der Feder des Architekturbüros Aflalo & Gasperini gewinnt der voluminöse Baukörper seine Eleganz. Das Gebäude wurde mit dem Platinum-Siegel des Green Building
Councils ausgezeichnet.
The conspicuous Eco Berrini office tower in the center of São Paulo,
Brazil, is eye-catching in more than one respect. Completed in 2011,
the 132-meter-building tower rises up above the surrounding area. A
special construction of shimmering black-and-white horizontal bands
consisting of a closed apron and glazed window elements encircle
the stories. Particularly striking are the 185 Schüco automated parallel
opening windows measuring 2,500 mm by 700 mm. The façades, arced
outwardly on two sides, afford an unobstructed view of the urban landscape. The 17-meter-high, fully glazed entrance area, projections and

recesses, as well as incisions in the building and a roof garden with
wedge-shaped roofing arrange the volumes. The voluminous building
is elegant due to its curved shape and the detailed design by Aflalo &
Gasperini architects. The building was awarded the Platinum seal by
the Green Building Council.

Der gestalterische Ansatz des Gebäudes ist ganz auf die Wiederherstellung
der Ecksituation mit dem Lückenschluss des Ensembles am Bundesverwaltungsgericht ausgerichtet. Durch das Zerschneiden des Baukörpers und das
Herausschieben einzelner Geschosse wird am Gebäudeknick ein Versatz erzeugt, der die Ecke wieder neu betont. Die Fassadengestaltung setzt sich
bewusst gegen die der angrenzenden Häuser ab, ist jedoch an der Traufhöhe und den Gesimsen des benachbarten Gründerzeitgebäudes orientiert. Dabei laufen die Brüstungen und oberen Abschlüsse der Fenster zum
Gebäudeknick hin diagonal auseinander, so dass dort, wo sie im Eckbereich
aufeinandertreffen, eine vollständig flächenbündige Verglasung entsteht.
An den Voll- und Teilverglasungen werden die öffentlichen und privaten Be-

reiche im Inneren des Hauses von außen ablesbar. Dabei sind die SchücoFenster der Serie AWS 75.SI (senkrechte Rahmen als Sonderprofile) zweischalig, so dass ein energetisch besonders sparsames Gebäude entstand.
Der Sonnenschutz läuft zwischen den Scheiben und stört so den Gesamteindruck der Fassade nicht. Da die flächenbündige Verglasung eine leichte
Verspiegelung erhalten hat, spielt die Fassade auch mit ihrer Lage unmittelbar am Bundesverwaltungsgericht.
