Patmore Garden
Miranda Garden
George and Peggy Patmore’s garden is
located at 510 Painter St., Rio Dell.
John and Patsy Miranda’s garden is
located at 1943 Port Kenyon Rd.,
Ferndale.
Patsy Miranda has a large collection of
different flowers including geraniums,
begonias, dahlias and other beautiful
plants. Her collection is a captivating
display with a large variety of colors.
Breathe in the fragrance as you walk
through these wonderful gardens set in
the Ferndale countryside.
Crane Garden
Bob and Sue Crane’s garden is located at
147 Watson Lane, Fortuna (off Loop
Rd.) Please park in the field marked by
orange cones.
Nestled near the redwood forest, this
garden offers a meadow setting featuring
a wide variety of fruit trees and a hillside
terrace. The raised beds of the vegetable
garden provide all the produce they need
with some left over for friends. There are
a few unusual plants including an
Australian Beronia Bush with flowers
that only about half the population can
smell. You will also find about fifty
various fruit and nut trees, or you might
discover a rhododendron or a rose in an
old stump around the property.
Fisher Garden
Cal and Cindy Fisher’s garden is located
at 210 Bellview Ave., Rio Dell. Please
park in the Rio Dell Assembly of God
church lot (big yellow church on the left)
and a shuttle leaving every 15 minutes
will transport visitors to the Fishers.
Welcoming you as you enter the garden,
are several espaliered fruit trees. As you
take a leisurely walk down a terraced
hillside layered with a variety of berries,
you will cross a grape-covered bridge
into a yard designed to attract butterflies,
birds, and dragonflies. Gaze upon a
formal fish pond, lush flower beds, and
numerous fruit trees that would entice
any gardener. The Fishers will be hosting
the BBQ lunch from 11:00 A.M.-1:30
P.M.
This peaceful garden is set along the
shore of the Eel River. The front yard
features four 100 ft. tall Monterey pine
trees that shade the lawn and make
music in the summer breeze. There are
also redwood, ginkgo biloba, and Dutch
elm trees in the front driveway. Strolling
along the rambling walkway, you will see
many varieties of plants and flowers on
the east and west side of the spacious two
story ranch house. The crowning glory of
the garden is the view of the bluffs.
Continuing farther into the four acre
yard you will find grapes, kiwis, apple,
cherry, fig, plum, and other fruits.
Godinho Garden
Dahlias, dahlias, and more dahlias
cascade through the lovely garden
created by Gene and Diana Godinho at
2575 Quail Hill Rd., Hydesville. This
impressive garden is home to the many
varieties of dahlias that Gene shows
every year at the Humboldt County Fair.
The front and sweeping hillside gardens
display a collection of begonias and
fuchsias as well. Diana has a vegetable
garden where food for her family and for
blessing others is grown. They will be
hosting the afternoon tea from 2-4 P.M.
Many of their dahlias will be available
for purchase.
