The Federative Republic of Brazil has received a financing
from the World Bank toward the cost of the SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT PLAN
AND COEXISTENCE WITH THE POTIGUAR SEMI-ARID REGION - PSP, and it
intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Contract
for Procurement of Supply of Pipes and Connections for the Expansion of the System
Agreste/Trairi/Potengi. The Environment and Water Resources State Secretariat SEMARH now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for Procurement of Supply of
Pipes and Connections for the Expansion of the System Agreste/Trairi/Potengi,
according the Lot 1 – Item 1) Supply of Pipes and Connections for the Expansion of the
System Agreste/Trairi/Potengi (Monsenhor Expedito Pipeline). Qualifications
requirements include: Manufacturer's Authorization; Documents indicating fulfillment
of at least two (02) contracts of similar scope and; Letter of Reference from at least two
(02) customers satisfied with the guidance to future operators and supply of spare parts;
financial and accounting statements to evidence that the Bidder has financial capacity to
perform the Contract. A margin of preference for certain goods manufactured
domestically shall be applied. Additional details are provided in the Bidding
Documents. Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding
procedures as specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: <a
href=http://go.worldbank.org/1KKD1KNT40>Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA
Credits</a>, (current edition), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the
guidelines. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the
Environment and Water Resources State Secretariat - SEMARH and inspect the
Bidding Documents at the address given below from 08:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. A
complete set of bidding documents in English and Portuguese may be purchased by
interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and
upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of R$ 200,00 (two hundred reais) or in another
freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be direct deposit payable to the
Secretaria do Meio Ambiente e dos Recursos Hídricos do Estado do Rio Grande do
Norte (SEMARH), agency 3795-8, account number 30.017-9, Banco do Brasil. The
document will be sent by airmail for overseas delivery or surface mail or courier for
local delivery. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 10:00 a.m. on
15 June 2010. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. They
will be opened immediately thereafter, in the presence of bidders' representatives, who
