W1 Movin’ On Up Senior middle blocker Aisha Carr registered enough blocks during the last two matches to move her up on the program’s all-time career record chart. Her 360 total blocks to date are enough to put her at No. 10 and replace Susan Hawks from the 1995-98 seasons. Hawks has 353. Carr needs eight more total blocks to pass Norisha Campbell (1998-01) and 24 more to replace Maggie Philgence from the 1987-90 seasons. Philgence has 384. Furthermore, Carr ranks as high as No. 7 in career block assists with 286 to date. She needs 29 more to pass Philgence who has 315, respectively. Back To Her Roots Sophomore outside hitter Nikki Anthony will have a homecoming of sorts waiting for her in Pickens, S.C., Saturday night. Anthony, who grew up in Pickens (home of Clemson University) will travel to familiar territory for the second time in her career. Last season she found great success against the Tigers where she recorded 15 kills both times the Tribe faced Clemson. What is Florida State’s Best Game? Statistically speaking, FSU tends to do well in the first game where it is 15-6 this year. The second contest is a little closer, but the Seminoles hold a slight 13-8 advantage. In the third go-around, the Tribe dominates 15-6. However, in games 4-5, the Seminoles struggle a bit. FSU is 5-5 in the fourth game and 1-4 in the fifth. Santos, Carr, and Skower Stay Ranked In The Top 10 In the ACC Middle blockers Amanda Santos and Aisha Carr and Jessica Skower are the only three Seminoles ranked at the top of the ACC in certain categories. Santos is second in hitting percentage (.382) and third in blocks (1.36 bpg), Carr is 8th in blocks (1.24 bpg) and Skower is fifth in assists per game after averaging 12.20 per game, respectively. Seminole Sports Magazine Features Volleyball Players The “Seminole Sports Magazine”, a half-hour television show which highlights Florida State University’s 17 varsity athletic programs, will feature various volleyball players in the next few weeks. Sisters Amanda and Andreza Santos sat down for an interview with Alex Mezquita in their home and talked about life in Brazil and what it’s like playing together in America. The segment will air Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Kristen Rust will be followed by a camera and print media crew next Friday in a segment called, “The Day In The Life of Kristen Rust.” Air times will be announced at a later date for Rust’s story. The show is hosted by Director of Athletics Dave Hart, Jr., and airs weekly on Saturday mornings on Sunshine Network during the academic year. The new season of Seminole Sports Magazine started August 30th with 35 consecutive shows. 2004 Florida State Roster No. 1 2 4 5 6 7 10 12 13 14 15 18 21 22 33 Name Amanda Santos Lauren Scott Andreza Santos Aisha Carr Kim Crawford Danielle MacDonald Lauren Walker Ashley Meyer Sarah Griffin Jessica Skower Kristen Rust Cassie McLaughlin Summer Weissing Nikki Anthony Renee Hill Yr.
