Majority of payment transactions in CZ are domestic payments in CZK – circumstances will not be changed in the
near future. We don’t have a fixed date for euro introduction so far.
Despite the fact that not all banks participate in SCT scheme, the critical mass of EUR payments is well covered (5
biggest Czech banks are processing 95 % of x-border EUR transactions).

SCT – status of migration



Product SCT is used by all segments – nevertheless our corporate clients
deliver a major part of payments in EUR volume
Estimate: 5 biggest Czech banks (CSOB, Ceska sporitelna, Komercni
banka, UniCredit Bank and Raiffeisenbank) have 95% share on all SEPA
payments – in total average monthly number for 5 big is about 700 000 SCT
(as SEPA transactions in both directions: IN+OUT in the Czech Republic)
and thereof 10% (70 000 SCT) are in fact domestic SEPA CTs (betwen 2
Czech clients / accounts)
National volume of SCT of all euro cross-border payments is close to
 85 % of all incoming EUR payments
 78 % of all outgoing EUR payments


We use IBAN and BIC for all types of x-border euro payments
We still face problems with BIC derivation from IBAN in certain countries –
missing unified rules for transparent IBAN construction in all EU
7 / 10
SDD - status of migration








The number of issued SDD transactions in single pieces
The main initiators of implementation SDD in the Czech Republic are
corporate clients (= business entities) contrary to the Western Europe where
it is a public administration
SDD products were launched in CZ so far only by four banks (UniCredit Bank
CR and Slovakia, Fio Bank, J&T Bank, Komerční banka)
In case of domestic CZK direct debits we use DMF scheme
The Czech National Bank (CNB) maintains the register of all issued CID for
SDD in the Czech Republic from 15th March 2010
Definition of a national standard for the Unique Creditor Identifier –
(http://www.cnb.cz/en/payment_systems/accounts_bank_codes/)
CNB admits future simplification of current process of CID registration
CNB will not migrate local clearing CERTIS to PE-ACH - no commitment
about its usage by critical mass of PSPs, nevertheless they support
progressive implementation of CID and mandate reference within existing
CZK direct debits
