town of Quarteira is today well known to the Portuguese people because of its
magnificent beaches, the quality of the fish and for forests of gentle pine trees
(Pinus pinea L.). To this adds the fishing slope, a important potential, not only
because of the richness produced, but also for it´s typical and cultural
interests, constituting for itself a touristic attraction.
The diversity of the offers pass also in the famous regional delight represented
by fig, almond, carob bean (Ceratonia siliqua L.) and the liqueurs drink of
arbutus berry, made in the ridge of mountains with the old alembics.

And there it is… Vilamoura!
Its origins came from the Roman period, to the first century after Christ. Its
location promoted the utilization of the maritime resources and the traffic of
goods, attested by the existence of a port. Other people pass through here like
the Mussulmans that had materialized their presence by the huge quantity of
architectural and cultural patrimony, evident in the landscape! To better
understand our history you could visit the museum “Cerro da Vila”.
Actually Vilamoura is one of the most touristic places in Europe adorned with a
wonderful marine, golf Courses, quality hotels, bars, discotheques, casino,
restaurants and beautiful beaches.

património arquitectónico e cultural evidente na paisagem! Para melhor
compreender a nossa história poderá visitar o Museu do Cerro da Vila.
Actualmente Vilamoura constitui um dos maiores complexos turísticos da Europa,
dispõe de uma maravilhosa marina, campos de golf, hotéis de qualidade, espaços de
lazer, bares, discotecas, casino, restaurantes e magnificas praias.
