Dear Sir,
It is our great pleasure to invite you to participate in the IEEE 3rd International Conference on
Serious Games and Applications for Health, SeGAH 2014. This year, SeGAH 2014 will take place
in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on May 14-16, 2014.
The overall objectives of the conference are the discussion and sharing of knowledge,
experiences and scientific and technical results, related to state-of-the-art solutions and
technologies on serious games and applications for health and healthcare, as well as the
demonstration of advanced products and technologies.
Submitted papers will be subject to a double-blind review process. All accepted papers will be
published in the conference proceedings and will be available at the IEEE Xplorer
(http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/Xplore/home.jsp), under an ISBN reference, on paper and on CDROM support. The Proceedings will be submitted for indexation by: Thomson Reuters
Conference Proceedings Citation Index; DBLP Computer Science Bibliography; and Inspec.
Best paper awards will be distributed during the conference closing session.
Workshops, Symposiums, Tutorials as well as Demonstrations dedicated to other
technical/scientific topics are in preparation: companies interested in presenting their
products/methodologies or researchers interested in holding a tutorial are invited to contact
the conference secretariat.

número de la RISTI, el cual será publicado durante el próximo mes de Diciembre.
Este número está subordinado a la temática de los Sistemas y Tecnologías de Información para

3) La revue Histoire & Mesure (Paris, CRH-EHESS), en collaboration avec le Centre for
economic history (University of Reading), lance un appel à contributions sur le thème
« La démesure de l’État. Contrôle et/ou transparence des finances publiques dans
l’Europe des 17e-19e siècle ». Les contributions seront discutées dans le cadre d’une
journée d’études organisée au printemps 2014 et destinée à être publiée sous forme
de numéro thématique par la revue.
Modalités de soumission
Propositions : Les propositions de communication - en français ou en anglais - devront
être envoyées avant le 15 septembre 2013.
Les propositions ne devront pas dépasser une page.
Elles devront être accompagnées d’un court cv (avec mention des adresses
électronique et postale, ainsi que du rattachement administratif) et d’une brève liste
de publications.
Les réponses seront adressées aux auteurs le 15 octobre au plus tard.
Publication : À la suite de la journée d’étude, la revue sélectionnera des contributions
pour publication dans un numéro thématique, après évaluation par son comité de
lecture d’un article complet d’une longueur maximale de 70 000 signes. La revue
Histoire & Mesure publie des articles rédigés en anglais ou en français.

2) PhD Position in European Space History
The DFG-funded Emmy Noether research group "The Future in the Stars: European

Astroculture and Extraterrestrial Life in the Twentieth Century” at the Friedrich-MeineckeInstitut of Freie Universität Berlin invites applications for a two-year PhD position. Salary grade
accords to E 13 TV-L (50%).
Candidates should have completed their post-graduate studies in History with a specialization
in History of Science, History of Technology, Cultural History or Art History by the time the
appointment begins. Applicants should be fluent in English. The ability to work in German
would be an asset. Applicants without any knowledge of German are expected, if appointed, to
acquire within one year a sufficient level of proficiency.
The successful candidate will be expected to conceptualize and compose a dissertation that is
related to European Space History, c. 1927-1975. Furthermore, she/he will be actively engaged
in all activities relevant to the research group including the organization and realization of
workshops and conferences as well as full participation in its operation and activities.
Applicants should submit a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, copies of
relevant academic certificates, a research proposal of no more than 3,000 words, and names
