This is a course both lecture based and practical oriented commited to: a) introduce
the theories of transmedia phenomena; b) analyze transmedia narratives examples;
and c) concretely create a transmedia extension connected to an analyzed project.

This lecture based course is structured as an introduction of the theories of
transmedia phenomena and in-depth analysis of transmedia narratives examples.
The course is organized in five units to offer an overview of the current terminology
and main concepts involved in transmedia phenomena; to introduce the basic tools
and aspects available to contemporary storytellers; to link transmedia storytelling to
issues of audience engagement in the process; to critically examine case studies of
transmedia extensions; to consider key moments in the evolution of transmedia
entertainment, and also to discuss the future directions of transmedia storytelling.
