Course: Multimedia Production Institution: National Research University Higher School of Economics, Russia Program: MA in Media Production and Creative Industries This is a practical oriented course focusing on pragmatic aspects of transmedia content development. The course is structured as a collaborative environment to create transmedia stories. Under the supervision of the course instructor, students work in groups throughout the module to plan a whole transmedia project and present it at the end. In order to reach this goal, the course is organized to offer the students lectures and practical work sessions related to the following main topics: Creative process, audience experience, and structure of transmedia project. Course: Transmedia Storytelling I Institution: Tallinn University Baltic Film and Media School, Estonia Program: MA in Crossmedia Production 9 This lecture based course is structured as an introduction of the theories of transmedia phenomena and in-depth analysis of transmedia narratives examples. The course is organized in five units to offer an overview of the current terminology and main concepts involved in transmedia phenomena; to introduce the basic tools and aspects available to contemporary storytellers; to link transmedia storytelling to issues of audience engagement in the process; to critically examine case studies of transmedia extensions; to consider key moments in the evolution of transmedia entertainment, and also to discuss the future directions of transmedia storytelling. Course: Transmedia Storytelling II Institution: Tallinn University Baltic Film and Media School, Estonia Program: MA in Crossmedia Production This is a practical oriented course focusing on pragmatic aspects of transmedia content development. The course is structured as a collaborative environment to create transmedia stories. Under the supervision of the course lecturer and guest lectures, students work in groups throughout the semester to develop a transmedia narrative that utilizes at least three different media platforms or types. At the end, each group should present the first outlines of a transmedia project. Course: Advanced Design Seminar: Design Criticism Institution: Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar, Qatar Program: MFA in Design Studies This semester course is a seminar to debate the professional and conceptual aspects of interdisciplinary design practice. The major topics are contemporary design thinking, evaluation of design effectiveness, environmental design, sustainability and theory in critical studies. The course structure is divided in two parts: the first one is focused on theoretical concepts and the second one is more practical, which includes a visual final project. Course: Design Studio One Institution: Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar, Qatar Program: MFA in Design Studies This summer course is studio based and incorporated the collaboration project between Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar and Fudan University in China. The course culminated with a field study trip to Shanghai, China, including the visit to Expo Shanghai 2010. Course: Methodological Strategy and Knowledge Institution: University Centre Senac, Brazil Program: Interior Design Graduate Program This is a theoretical course for the Interior Design Graduate Program. It introduces students to an array of aesthetical discourses and its play in design research, in the production of knowledge in design. Course: Crossmedia Production I Institution: Tallinn University Baltic Film and Media School, Estonia Program: BA in Crossmedia Production This is a practical oriented course aiming to familiarize students with methods and processes of development of crossmedia content and to provide tools for the development of crossmedia content for different media platforms.
