T
he first unit of the Hospital Particular
do Algarve (HPA) to be built was Alvor
Hospital, and right from the start, the quality
of its services and technological innovation
earned it an image of distinction, bringing
with it the need to create new units.
The HPA Health Group is presently the
largest private health group in the region,
with three hospitals and six clinics covering
the whole Algarve region. The loyalty of its
patients has been the main driving force behind its growth and expansion, continuously
inspiring the organisation to create bolder,
more innovative strategies.
It is from this foundation that the Group's
most recent project came about: a brand new
building covering more than 3,000sqm as an
extension of Alvor Hospital, which will hold
the Out-Patient Department, Special Examinations, Physical Rehabilitation Unit, Dentistry and Medical Tourism support services.

investment in state-of-the-art equipment and

imagem de distinção, precipitando a necessidade
de criação de novas unidades.
Nesse sentido, o Grupo HPA Saúde, o maior
grupo privado de saúde da região, compreende
atualmente três hospitais e seis clínicas que cobrem
toda a região algarvia e cuja fidelização dos seus
utentes tem constituído o principal desafio para o

É nesta base de sustentabilidade que surge a
mais recente criação do grupo: um edifício construído de raiz, com mais de 3 000m2 e adjacente ao
Hospital de Alvor, que concentra as Consultas de
Ambulatório, os Exames Especiais, a Medicina de
Reabilitação, a Medicina Dentária e os serviços de
apoio ao Turismo Médico.
O Grupo HPA Saúde sempre se distinguiu pela
inovação na intervenção e nos meios que
disponibiliza e, mantendo esta filosofia, vão ser
implementados novos serviços, alguns únicos na
região sul do país, como é o caso da medicina
hiperbárica e da medicina do exercício. Por seu
turno, outros irão ser expandidos e modernizados,
sendo que todos irão beneficiar de espaços mais
amplos e funcionais. Ao mesmo tempo, o
crescimento da procura dos nossos serviços exige
que nos organizemos com áreas de atendimento
mais modernas e cómodas, que dignifiquem e
valorizem a presença de quem nos procura.
A ampliação e a reorganização do Hospital de
Alvor irão permitir duplicar a sua área de construção,
aumentar a especialização dos seus serviços, tornar
mais operacional a ligação entre os diferentes
setores e unidades, mas, sobretudo, oferecer mais
comodidade e bem-estar aos nossos clientes.
No piso -1, para além das áreas de serviço
dedicadas ao refeitório e à cafetaria, poderá
encontrar uma zona comercial, que inclui uma
parafarmácia e o departamento de Medicina
Hiperbárica, cuja prestação de cuidados é
imprescindível, entre outras situações, na prática

The expansion and restructuring of
Alvor Hospital will allow improved quality
of its medical services, by improving communication between the different sectors
and departments of the hospital, but above
all ensuring greater comfort and wellbeing
for its patients.
The bottom floor will be home to the
coffee shop and cafeteria, a shop area that
will include a Para-Pharmacy, and the
Hyperbaric Unit, which is essential for the
safe practice of deep sea diving but also for
the recovery of other pathologies.
The ground floor will include a large
reception area, as well as a VIP Medical
Consultation and lounge area, various specialit consultation rooms, special test
examination rooms including a specialised
Paediatric Unit, and the Physical
Rehabilitation Department. Here, there will
be considerable improvement to the
facilities available, which will include a
medically controlled physical exercise gym
and intensive rehabilitation for patients who
have suffered brain damage. This
department boasts a vast number of separate
therapy rooms set across 400sqm.
The first floor is mainly dedicated to the
Special Examinations Units, with adjacent
specialist consultation rooms and treatment/intervention rooms – Urology, ENT
and Gastroenterology – while the top floor
will hold the Dental Surgeries, Aesthetic and
Plastic Surgery Departments and Medical
Tourism facilities. Most importantly, the new
expansion will boast modern facilities in
comfortable surroundings.
At the same time, the interior of Alvor
Hospital is being totally revamped, turning it
into a modern unit that also offers its patients
a comfortable and functional hospital.

O piso 0 contempla uma ampla receção geral
e uma zona de atendimento VIP, um conjunto
extenso de gabinetes de consultas e de exames
especiais, incluindo uma área diferenciada
pediátrica, para além da Unidade de Reabilitação e
Acidentes. Esta especialidade irá beneficiar do
desenvolvimento de novas abordagens, como a
medicina do exercício ou a reabilitação intensiva
no dano cerebral adquirido, dispondo de amplas
áreas terapêuticas e interdisciplinares que somam
no seu conjunto cerca de 400m2.
O piso 1 é dedicado fundamentalmente aos
Exames Especiais, com os respetivos gabinetes de
consulta e salas de tratamento/intervenção –
unidades de urologia, de otorrinolaringologia, de
gastrenterologia - enquanto o último piso se
distribui entre a Medicina Dentária, a Medicina
Estética e o Turismo Médico, através de áreas
elegantes, mas sobretudo acolhedoras.
A par da criação desta nova unidade, também o
próprio Hospital de Alvor se encontra num profundo processo de reformulação das suas instalações, que lhe manterão o porte de “gentleman”,
mas que paralelamente lhe irão oferecer uma presença mais contemporânea e funcional. A sua
