SCD-C units are specially designed for transport in container. This eliminates the extra costs for crating or the need to transport on a flat rack container. Evaporative Condensers are designed for operating conditions specified below. The operator must ensure that during operation of the equipment these conditions are not exceeded. The support arrangement recommended for SCD units is formed by two beams along the unit. In addition to provide support, the steel is also used to raise the unit above any solid foundation that may limit the move or make difficult the access to the bottom of the unit. The steel supporting beam must be located directly beneath the unit and be extended along the total length of the basin section. The support beams and anchor bolts must be supplied and installed by third parties (customer or installer). When required, refer to Evapco drawing for the location of fastening holes. Beam size and length The beam size must be calculated according to good current structural practice. Use 70% of the operational weight as the uniform load for each beam. The beam length must be at least equal to the basin length. Please refer to section Engineering Data for the basin dimensions. The maximum deflection permitted for the beam and the center line distances of bolt holes are shown in the table below. Principle of Operation Princípio de Operação The gas to be condensed flows through the condensing coil, which is constantly cooled with re-circulated water. The air aspirated by the fan flows through the coil and causes the evaporation of a little quantity of water. This evaporation removes heat from the coil and cools it with the consequent gas condensation. Heat Exchange Module 1. The coil is fabricated of a steel tube pneumatically tested under water at a pressure of 28 kg/cm2. It is designed for low pressure drop for free drainage of liquid refrigerant. The coil is installed on a steel structure and the entire assembly is hot galvanized after the manufacture. The equipment design has provision for self-supporting coil, which prevents structural problems during the equipment lifetime. 2. The water distribution system consists on manifolds and PVC tube spraying branches, with plastic no-clog nozzles with large diameter, to ensure complete wetting of the coil under any operating conditions. The nozzles, spraying and distribution branches are connected by snaping rubber grommets providing quick removal for cleaning. 3. The eliminators separate in an effective way water droplets from the airflow. The laminar format on the air outlet increases the discharge speed. The sets of eliminators are mounted on sections that may be easily removed, thus enabling access to the water distribution system. Module/Basin 1. Fiberglass-reinforced plastic water basin (FRP), supported by structure made of steel hot zinc-plated after manufacture, with makeup valve, drain/overflow and water strainer. Easy to access for inspection and adjustment of the make-up valve, for strainer cleaning and removal, as well as for cleaning the basin. 2. Water recirculating pump, centrifuge type with 3-phase electrical motor and IP55 protection grade. 3. Valved bleed line is installed between the pump discharge and the overflow. 4. Make-up water valve is controlled by a plastic float of large diameter. The float height is easily adjusted by a joint. 5. The strainer is lightweight, but strong, cylindrical and easily removed for cleaning. Module/Fans 1. Axial flow fans are statically balanced and directly coupled to the electrical motors. 2. The electrical motors of the fans are 3-phase type, with IP55 protection grade.
