March for Life The 42nd Annual March for Life will be held in Washington, DC on Thursday, January 22. The Respect Life Committee is chartering a bus to the March. All Ss. Peter and Paul parishioners, including parents and children are welcome to attend this important event. The bus will be leaving from our parish parking lot at 6:30 AM in order to attend mass at the Immaculate Conception Shrine in Washington, prior to the March. Circulating Our Lady of Guadalupe Statue In anticipation of the World Meeting of Families in September, SS. Peter and Paul Respect Life Group has begun circulating our Pilgrim Queen, a blessed statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe. We are asking families to welcome Mary into their homes for one week, Sunday to Sunday. We ask each family to pray the rosary (or a decade with children) for Pope Francis, as well as for the protection of marriage and families, the sanctity of human life, and religious freedom. PROJECT RAINBOW The Drueding Center provides housing and support services for homeless women and their dependent children. Their goal is to empower homeless families to break the cycle of dependency and become productive members of society. Thank you for your support!! Are you a Mandated Reporter? As part of our Catholic commitment to safe environments, the Archdiocese recently updated its policies and training curriculum for mandated reporters of child abuse and neglect. These new policies reflect the Church’s commitment to always do more, as well as new Pennsylvania laws that go into effect on December 31, 2014. If you have direct contact with children, you are a mandated reporter. Lora Zembruski is our Safe Environment Coordinator and will be working with our parish in the coming weeks to educate mandated reporters about their responsibilities and how to properly report child abuse to ChildLine, Pa’s 24-hour child abuse reporting hotline. In the meantime, Lora can be reached at 610.692.2216 after 4:00pm or at [email protected] with any questions. Information is also available at www.childyouthprotection.org. As we continue to do all we can to keep our children safe, also know that the Office for Child and Youth Protection provides services, resources and support toward healing victims and survivors of child sexual abuse and their families. We are located in the lobby of Church in the first room on your right as you enter the Church. Liturgy of the Word with Children All children 4 and older are invited to hear God’s Word in a child centered experience. Children leave at the beginning of Mass to listen, sing and hear a child’s version of the Liturgy of the Word in the Church Hall. They return to the Church at the Presentation of the Gifts. Come check us out!! School Peg Egan, Principal Widow/Widowers Support Group Meeting DATE/DAY CHANGE!!! The widow/widowers group will meet on the 3rd MONDAY of every month going forward.
