The Island of Porto Belo is the principal attraction of the area. It has a small beach
with large stones scattered along its length, forming numerous little areas for sunbathing. You can follow the footpath that weaves in and out and there are two beach bars for cold drinks. Take a boat around to the tip of the island
for some snorkeling in the clean and clear waters or float along the underwater trails to check out the fish.
DOCKING
Porto Belo is a tender port. The
cruise ship will anchor outside of
Porto Belo and tender into Porto
Belo's yacht harbor.

TRANSPORTATION
You can visit Porto Belo on foot or
take a shuttle into town. Shuttle
cost 7 reais or $ 5 United States dollars.

HOW TO GET TO TOWN
It is only a ten-minute shuttle ride
from the cruise ship tender port to
the main square of Porto Belo.
SHOPPING
There is limited shopping right by
the tender wharf and there is a free
shuttle that will take you into downtown Porto Belo to visit small shops
and vendors selling various crafts
and other items. Porto Belo offers
shops and boutiques selling local
crafts, wood carvings, paintings,
unique art items, beach clothes and
equipment, and locally crafted costume jewelry.

Banks are generally open from
10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
POST OFFICE HOURS
The AC Porto Belo Post Office is located at Rua Gualberto Leal Nunes,
240. It is open from 9:00 am to
5:00 pm.

HISTORY
In the 18th century, the town of Porto Belo
was just a small fishing village, with most
of its inhabitants Portuguese descendants
from the Azores Islands. Today, the town
still looks like a small fishing village, but
with some modern touches that are contributed by the growth of tourism in the
area including hotels, restaurants, and
boat excursions. Porto Belo is noted as the
quaintest part of the Emerald Coast and the
hotels and pousadas are equally charming
for the most part. The most popular beach
in the area is Praia da Enseada, an inlet on
the southern end of the village where you¹ll
find clear, greenish water that is perfect for
swimming.

Bombas Beach is the closest beach to town. Enjoy the complete beach services including restaurants, bars and beach activities.
C. Quatro Ilhas (4 Ilhas) Beach
Quatro Ilhas Beach is within walking distance
of Bombinhas Beach. Enjoy surfing in the clear
waters.
B. Bombinhas Beach
Bombinhas Beach is located past Bombas Beach
and offers more solitude. It is lined with restaurants, bars, shops and boutiques and the main
street, about 1 block inland, offers even more
shopping opportunities.
D. Mariscal Beach
Take a taxi to visit this 8 km beach. It offers great
waves for surfing and body boarding.
